| To the best of my knowledge, the first time in history that the name Lozano is mentioned, is when El Cid kills the father of his future wife, Dona Ximena, in a duel or fight. The father of Dona Ximena was the Conde (Count) of Casa Lozano. One of my maternal great-grandfathers was Jose Geronimo Lozano y Gonzalez. He was killed in a duel that took place in Havana in the late 1800s. He belonged to a sort of elitist social group, whose members used to duel every once in a while. This group was known as the "Jovenes de la Acera del Louvre." I personally had never heard of the connection mentioned by this person. Oswaldo F. Hernandez-Campos Dahlonega, Georgia |
