Has anyone come across Alicia Bella CHAMP, who married c.1858 Samuel Bradford PENNY.
These are the ancestors of my niece's husband
Regards, Christine in NZ

Dear Christine,

Not one of my lines, but:

Alicia is on 1841 census with her parents (John and Anne)and siblings in Lyme Regis - (but transcribed as Aletia) - see the Dorset OPC site at www.opcdorset.com

I haven't found her baptism, but her father John was baptised on 19 January 1800 s/o Samuel & Elizabeth at Lyme Regis.

His mother is also on the 1841 census with his sister Ann who was baptised on 1 September 1793 at Lyme Regis.

There are other siblings listed also, Philip bap 12 October 1794, Mary bap 9 Mar 1796, another Philip bap 25 March 1798, Charles bap 6 June 1802 and James born 2 August & bap 10 November 1805.

Samuel CHAMP (cordwainer) & Elizabeth LARCY married on 21 June 1792 at Lyme Regis, Witnesses were John LAWRENCE & Ann CHAMP.
All bap & marriage info - Dorset FHS via Find my Past & Pallot's marriages via Ancestry.

I hope this helps.

Hi Christine,

Further to my earlier reply, I have found the following:

Samuel Champ was buried at St Michael's, Lyme Regis on 8 June 1834 aged 72 - Info Dorset FHS via Find my Past & National Burial Index.

Elizabeth Champ - Death registered Mar 1/4 1847 Axminster GRO Ref: 10 - 19 - Info FreeBMD.
