I am looking for my information on my G/Grandfather.His name was Dugald McGregor & was born in Fenwick.I think he came from a family of 7, he being the eldest.I understand that his parents came from Argyll.Is there anyone who can help,it would be very helpful.Thank you for helping

Hi if you go to 1851census you will find your gr/grandfather on it for fenwick I have not looked on any later census but might be more on there in www.ancestry.co.uk or try www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk which is a pay site.

The IGI shows several children born to Donald McGregor and Cathrine Cowan, including Dugald 16Sept1838 christening. If this seems correct, then check them out on ancestry.com in subsequent census records to be sure.

I can't work out to whom I am writing but I also am a great grand-daughter of Dugald & Jeannie & live near Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire. My father was Dugald John Macgregor [lived ex Calside Dumfries]
