Re: Browns of Barbour County & Dale county
I have researched most of the Browns in subject counties but need more info from you such as locations and dates.
My Browns were in both Dale and Barbour Co.'s and arrived abt. 1840 from GA, SC, NC.
My GGG GF was John Brown, b. 1794 NC and married an Elizabeth ? B. 1823, SC. They had a lot of children and were farmers in Dale Co. Oldest son Jessie married Leah Amanda Miller and he died in Civil war and Leah died before 1870. Their children John Jackson, William Andrew, & Missouri Francus Brown were taken in by John & Mary Jacobs (relationship unknown) in barbour Co. William later moved to Geneva co, John J. married Savannah ? in Barbour co. around 1880 and had a daughter named Gerogia. Savannah died d. ? and Georgia was residing with brother William A. in 1900. John remarried Roxie Curithers in MS and remained there. He never mentioned his first family and very little about his parents.
If you will provide more specifics I will see if we have matches or see what I have in my records on your Browns.
