Searching for their marriage record. We think that Mary is the daughter of Francis McClung who lived for a time in Fayette Co. Here is what we know so far about Francis:
Does anyone have a marriage record for them?
Here is what we have on Francis McClung and we suspect that Mary is his daughter:
Francis McClung was born in 1783. The records show him in these areas:
1813 Francis is listed in a tax list in Madison County, AL
1815 md in Madison Co., AL to Rody Magby from SC.
He was in St. Clair County in 1820 and he and wife just listed as over 21 with no one else listed with them.
1830 Francis in Jefferson County (borders St. Clair and Blount counties) 1 Male 40-50, 1 Female 10-15, and 1 Female 30-40
1840 St. Clair has Francis: 1 Male 40-50, 1 Female 20-30, and 1 Female 50-60 (b. 1790s; female b. 1780s. This needs to be rechecked as the ages for Francis and Rhoda seem to be reversed. It may just be an error in enumeration or transcription.
1843 a Francis has a land patent issued to him in Fayette County
1850 Francis is listed age 67, b. TN, farmer in St. Clair County with wife Roda listed as 55 (b. 1795). Francis probably died before 1860 as Rhoda is found in Blount County in 1860 (with the Mikajah Harris family), age 65.
The Mary, wife of Micajah Harris was listed as 40 years old in the 1860 census. That would place her birthday at 1820 AL and might be the daughter listed in the 1830 census as age 10-15 or 1815-20.
