Hi Joel. Thanks for the reply. I already had that information but I appreciate you sending it to me. Rosa Ables mother was Lucinda Ray Ables (Abel). I am trying to find when and where she died. She and her husband Thomas M Abel were living in Glen Allen Al in Fayette co Al in the 1900 census. That is where their daughter Rosa Ables married James Whitehead in 1900. I know she died shortly after 1900 but I can not find a recorde about her death as far aa when she died and where she was buried. I know Thomas M Ables and his children went to Choctaw co Ok in the early 1900's. I don't think they had death certificates until about 1915. Can you think of any way I could find when and where Lucinda Ray Ables died? Thanks,Ross

Would you be able to help me with this pleaee? Thomas M Abel or Ables and his wife Lucinda Elizabeth Ray Ables were living in Fayette co Al in the Glen Allen Al area on rented property owned possibly byt the Whiteheads. I know Lucinda Ray Ables died shortly after 1900 and her family went to Choctaw co Oklahama. I am trying to find when and where she died. Someone said there were a number of Ables buried in the Carbon Hill area and a researcher said they thought she was probably buried in the Jasper Al area in Walker co Al. I thought maybe you could help. Their daughter Rosa Ella Ables married Jame Whitehead in 1900 in Fayette co Al in the Glen Allen Al area and they went to Prentiss co MS. Any help apprecaited. Thanks,Ross

I don't really know where to look. One researcher said they thought there were some Ables buried in the Carbon Hill Al area. Any help appreciated. ross

I assume he was born 1796 in Blount TN as the family lived there in the early 1800s, coming from NC. The family left Blount TN for Madison and Bond counties in Illinois in 1818. Edwin and his older brother Adley/Adlai Harris returned east to Fayette Co AL in 1821. Adlai served as a state representative in 1843-44.

Maybe there is a Harris family connection here somewhere.

In Fayette Co AL there is a Francis Powell, wife of Elias McClung. She always spelled her first name with an "i" rather than an "e". Her husband Elais died in the early 1840s and she is probably laying claim to Elias' claim/grant.

Elais was the son of Jonas McClung who's will was probated in Fayette Co AL and it listed the names of Elais' children. These children were Caroline who married a Mr. CHILES, Margaret who married Robert DAVIS, Adaline who married George MOSS, Frances Ann who married a Mr. BERRYHILL and another whose name was not readable.*

*Source: Sharlene McGee Stough, "Winding Trails," Fayette County Broadcaster, circa 1978.
Article submitted by Sharon Taylor (received from Thelia Taylor) and posted here with the author's permission.

http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alfayett/Families/McCLUNG_...
Would someone have the cemetery records that might show where Lucinda Elizabeth Abel or Ables who died shortly after 1900 might have been buried? She and her husband Thomas M Abel were living in Glen Allen Al in the 1900 census. A researcher said there were a number of people named Abel or Ables who were buried in cemeteries in the Carbon Hill area. Any help appreciated. Thanks,Ross

Pictures would be a wonderful treasure also. I have very little pictures, lets put this way I have a few pics but no one can identify all of them in the ones I have. I also have a picture of Julia's home that I would gladly share with you. Now, would you be willing to give me your e-mail address so that we can continue and contribute what we have with each other?

Winfield Russell is my mother's father.

My mother said that she knew nothing about her father's parents, other than that they were Foster Duke Russell and Eva Palmer. I have since looked through much census info, the cemetery listing, and captions to old family photos, and internet postings, and I've come up with only a little. I'm still trying to find more info.

I have good firsthand info about Foster D. Russell's descendants, but for other Russells, I have only what I've psoted. I'm trying to fill out the Russell side of the family tree, and learn more about the Russell family history. If you have information that you'd like to share, I'd love to know more.

This was sent to me by Jeanine that posted her query. The Russell's are my husbands family. Jeanine and I have researched together for 7 years, as she is connected to him by another family, and have been quit successful. Some of the info you sent I have but didn't know that Fosters sons had passed. Are you researching the Russells? I have been looking for Julia Ingram Russell's death certificate or something that shows her death. Since she died in the 1950's I would think it wouldn't be that hard to find. But that's apparently not so. I have her marriage to J.W.

The 1880 census for Marion County, AL lists this family:
Thomas Ingram 31
Martha A. Ingram 29
Julia A. Ingram 8
James A. Ingram 6
Laura B. Ingram 4
Mary L. Ingram 11M

The Goodwater Cemetery in that area mentions her as Julia Russell, as you are aware. That cemetery also has a Martha Glover Ingram, born 1851. It seems possible that census may have said Martha G Ingram, and the transcriber read it as Martha A, so that may possibly be her mother.

From what I can tell, between mutliple census records and the Goodwater graveyard, John and Julia's kids were:

Foster Duke Russell b. 1/30/1892
Ralph M. Russell b. 2/11/1894
Mark A. Russell b. 4/14/1896
Brice O. Russell b. 10/3/1898
Frank K. Russell b. 8/17/1901
John William Russell III b. 11/10/1903

I know that Foster D. Russell's children were:
Foster William Russell. b. 9/2/1913, d. 3/30/1998
Winfield Palmer Russell, b. 4/12/1919, d. 8/30/2003

What is your information regarding Julia and/or John W.
William Christopher Hyde's relatives Hyde Reunion at Tannehill State Park Alabama 2009

Come one Come All To the Annual Hyde Reunion (2009) at Tannehill State Park in Alabama.

It's time again for the Annual Hyde Reunion of William Christopher Hyde's relatives and friends.

Tannehill State Park is located off of the Bucksville Exit of Interstate 59. There are signs that you can follow. Also, if you are coming from I459 then it is the first exit at McCalla. You go past McAdory High School several miles and it is on the left. The road you are traveling is Eastern Valley Road. It has a big sign that says Tannehill State Park. Tannehill is located in three Counties, Jefferson, Bibb and Tuscaloosa Counties. After you get to the entrance of the park you will turn left and go across their little railroad and turn right after crossing the bridge.
