Actually I was a bit blank-minded when I answered your question. I'm looking for any information on the (West) Concord Community along Keels Creek south of Eureka Springs.
Gene Masters has had some fairly recent articles about his family there, but I wondered if there was anything else going back further in time. I'd be glad to come in and do whatever would be required to pursue it. Thanks for all of the work you do.

My great grandmother Josephine Caroline Wagley had a sister Mattie (Martha?)Bell. They were the daughters of Albert Anthony Wagley, son of John Wagley. The two sisters married Smoot brothers. Does any of this ring true for you?

hello, my name is catherine wilkinson - i have a john wagley on my tree born in 1786 in north carolina and died in 1858 - Arkansas
the family tree i have has him with many children
and most of them did emigrate to red river,
i am searching for a relative of mine, who is in a photo with her relatives, the picture could have been taken in Texas, and in the picture is - i know my gr grandmother martha bell wagley. also in the picture is her grandfather whom i can't identify, yet and with him is his sister. on the back of photo someone wrote mamma (my gr grandmother) aunt m - who could be the said grandpa wagley. there are two children in photo i cannot identify but i can speculate and it could be my grandmother, ethel v. brady,or not, and the other is a boy-child
i would really like to see if i could find them - if they are still alive.

Green families of Carroll County

I am seeking info on a William L. Green and family. From information that I have he married Dona Lee (AKA Laura) McDuffey on Dec 9 1888 in Yell Co. She was the daughter of John H. McDuffey and Sarah Ida Brown of Yell Co.
They had 2 sons, John and Columbus (Lum). Both must have been born about 1888-1892.

The info that I have is that Dona (born in 1872 in Yell Co.) died Jan 15 1893 and the two sons were living with their grandmother Green in Green Forest, Carroll Co., Ar.

Dona Lee McDuffey Green is buried in Sunshine Cemetery, Yell Co. Her tombstone: To our Mother, by John & Lum Green.

I cannoy find more info on William L., John or Columbus (Lum) Green and would love to have more info.

I found W.J. on the 1920 Census in Searcy County, listed as Jesse. His wife is in the Arkansas Death index having died on January 7, 1916. The James that is listed in our Cemetery index died in a explosiion working on the railraod on the line from Boone County to Carroll County. Have you gotten a copy of his death certificate in Oklahoma, or his obituary. You can some times contact the funeral home and get a copy of hid funeral record.

W. J. marr. Sarah Love in 1895and they lived in St. Joe, Ar.
Don't know if he was marr. before that. On Census in Ar. That i have. One has him as Wilson and i have him as Woodroe Jefferson and they called him Jesse. It seems like some one he was William Jefferson. I know he live in St. Joe, my dad and his brothers and sisters were born there. I guess, what i can't figure out is all the names. I found a
W J. and a sister Mary E. in Taney co. Mo. Father James, i was woundering if that could be them, but can't connect them.

Could anyone please tell me where Cyntha Thurman Hammack is buried? She lived in Berryville and was in the 1900 Carrol co census living with her mother Martha Deaton. She married James L Hammack in late 1900 and died in March of 1901. I would also like to know where her mother(Martha Deaton) was buried. She died in 1907. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

my name is Charles Berry. my pa told me he was related to blackburn. my pa was born in a log cabin in bertha holler mo. about 2 hr give or take from berryville. there is alot of berry around here. I ask alot of my greats and grands about our family. they would huss up and not talk about them. my grandpa Otto Berry is buried in yates cemetary. my greatgrandpa sherman H. berry is buried in henderson cemetary. all these are in mo. north and east of Berryville ar. I cant tell you any more, for like i said my pa wont talk of his kin. I still live down here in the hills east of springfield mo. about 1 hr away. I hope this helps.

The Old Yell Masonic Lodge...located at/near the Carrollton Cemetery?

Perhaps the folks at the Harrison Heritage Museum could provide you with the exact directions to the old Carrollton area along Hwy 412, in the valley of Long Creek.

Thank you very much. I know where Carrollton is - or at least the sign on Hwy. 68. I see it everytime I travel between Huntsville and Harrison. I wanted to ascertain where exactly one turns off Hwy. 68/412 to get to the old town? Thanks, but none of the links you offered gave exact directions either. They all say "south of Alpena" or "off Hwy 68", etc. Is there a marked road that you take? How do you get to the Masonic Lodge? Thanks.

Carrollton is south of Alpena, which straddles the county lines of Carroll and Boone counties. The Yell Masonic Lodge, located off of hwys 412/68 in Carrollton, is listed on the National Register of Historic places in Arkansas, ( www.arkansaspreservation.org).

There are several ways to travel to Carrollton, one option would be from Harrison, Arkansas. Harrison is located in Boone County, which was carved from Carroll County.

The town of Harrison has a neat heritage history museum, ( www.bchrs.org ). On their website, enter "Carrollton" in the the Search box for more info. about the community.

The town of Berryville also has a neat heritage history museum, ( www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~arcchs ).

The Carrollton Cemetery, with directions, is also listed online at ( www.arkansasgravestones.org ).

His wif is Margaret Shannon, His son is William A Bailey, b 1861, and d 1948 in Carrol County , Ark. His grandson was a preacher I think, Isaac B, married to Ollie. Isaac was also called Grace.

John Wagley, Carroll County 1860 Census

My ggg grandfather was John Wagley from NC. I have seen references to his passing abt. 1866 in Ark., a John Wagley with a family, but none I recognize is on Crooked Creek census 1860, but also on 1860 Red River County census has his wife and children without him.
Surely a charter member of the Baptist church would not be a bigamist?!
Is there a will, a marriage, someway to clear this up for me and others???

Am trying to to find the death location/burial place of Emeline "Emily" Allen, wife of John Allen. Her first name may have been Elizabeth. They are on the 1850 census, in Jefferson Twp., Carroll Co., Ark. Emeline/?Elizabeth is said to have died bet. 1854-1856.

Mailes family from Arkansas. W.W. Mailes on 1930 US Census, residing in Maricopa Cnty., with sons Billie & Teddy Mailes. Census record that W.W. is a widower. Census also states that he was born in Arkansas, and so was his father. His mother was born in Missouri.
His sons, Billie and Teddy were born in Oklahoma.

This is what I found so far, ran into other spellings, and looks like they moved around some so they are hard to track. I will look for more info and let you know what I find.
