Dolores,
I just tried to send you an email from an old genforum listing and it bounced. Would you please contact me at hiramlong@mchsi.com?
I don't have information on the father of Isaac Lowe who married Margaret McLees, but I suspect he may share a common ancestor with my husband's Hudson Lowe who married Sabina Hunt in Mason Co. KY. in 1818.
Isaac's son Squire intrigues me as my husband is a near DNA match to another Squire Lowe who was from Pendleton Co. KY. That Squire was said to be a son of a William Lowe from Maryland who was first in Bourbon Co. KY. and I know Nicholas Co. was formed from part of Bourbon Co. (I've not found proof that William was in Bourbon Co., just a claim in a biographical sketch of one of his sons.) Isaac's son Squire and Hudson Lowe's children share many of the same names. (Both had children named Margaret, George W., Sally, Charlotte, John, and Elizabeth or Eliza). Eli Hudson Lowe's children gave his birthplace as Maryland.
I'm also interested in the Isaac, Nathan, and William Low who were in the 1800 tax list of Fleming Co. KY. Nathan b. Maryland also named a son Hudson, who is not our Hudson. Is your Isaac Lowe the one who was in Fleming Co. in 1800 and whose daughter Catherine married there in 1821?
How did you determine that the Isaac Lowe who named wife Sarah in his will in Nicholas Co. Ky is the same Isaac Lowe who married Margaret McLees in Mason Co. KY.? (I'm not disputing it - would just like to know what the connecting piece of proof is?)
Do you have any living male surnamed Lowe in your Isaac Lowe line who would be willing to join the Lowe DNA study??? (I'm guessing that we would have a match with Isaac's descendants and would love to know if that guess turns out to be right!)
Please contact me at hiramlong@mchsi.com.
