I have posted many times but feel there has to be some kind
of record for the Joseph Patterson family. He and his wife
Sarah Stephens were in Covington area by 1812 as their son
Robert was born there in 1812 and died 1854 in Montgomery Co., In. Ann was b 1814, Sarah Elizabeth b. 10/22/1817,
died as Mrs. Abijah Bayliss 3/10/1889 in In. Andrew Jackson,
my GGrandfather, was bo in In. 2/8/1830 married Matilda
Newkirk, Mary A. b. 1/15/1835 in In. Here are two more who
were born in Covington area - Thomas b. 9/2/1824 d. 3/31/1891, married Mary Jane Holdman(Holman) and William b
1826.

I cannot find any birth records, family Bibles, medical
records, obits nor have I ever found proof of marriage be-
tween Joseph and Sarah. I am assuming it would have been
bet. 1809-1812 and it could have been in Pa. Oh, or Ky.
Believe me I have looked!

The only thing as to Kentucky that I found when I went
there was a land record. Joseph, Sarah and a couple by
the name of Weir sold land in 1828 just prior to leaving
for Indiana. I was not able to find the original purchase
of the land. After they moved to In., I have census records
and a land record for Joseph, know where they are buried,
have pics of the plots. But! I have nothing in Pa. only
a strong suspecion that he appeard on the 1807 tax list
from Wheatfield Twp, Ind. Co. Pa along with several other
Pattersons and Stephens as well as Robert Weir. I cannot
find thus far, Joseph's parents, I suspect he was related
to Archibald and Anna Weir Patterson but have no positive
proof.
