I am a direct descendent of Lemuel Lisle and Nancy Vassar. One of their children was Frances Adilla Lisle. She supposidly was an Cherokee girl adopted as a baby by the Lisles, but she also could have been their birth child. Adilla was my Great Grandfather James Garfield Ball's grandmother. Adilla married Dr. William Madison Ball (who fought for the north in the Civil War) and who was a direct descendent of George Washinton's mother, Mary Ball. Their son Hiram Warner Ball married a woman named Hester Ann Grable, and they gave birth to my great grandfather James Garfield Ball. My grandmother's name was Patrician Jean Ball.
