Hello Joy,
MPG was named after a politician in Williamson County, TN where he was born. Although some have identified MPG's name as Meredith Paul Gentry Nickens, the politician was actually Meredith Poindexter Gentry. So I am not sure whether MPGs second name was actually Paul. I have yet to see any kind of record that identifies what the P stood for.
He was buried in the White River Cemetery, St. Paul Arkansas.
