Looking for information on "Rock Branch Holler", where is it in Perry County and how to get there as I plan on being in S/E Ky. this coming summer. I have heard that my grandfather,Samuel Marcus BOGGS is buried there and I would like to be able to verify that. I am under the impression that Rock Branch Holler was property that he may have owned and not a cemetery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know of many Combs in my family tree. However, my grandmother, Sophia Standafer Shillinglaw, who was raised in an orphanage with her younger sister Polly, is who I am looking for information about. She married Love Talmage Shillinglaw who came (I think) from South Carolina working on the railroad and met my Grandmother Sophia in Blue Diamond?. Please advise any information you may have and I will send you the information on the Combs and Standafers that are in my files.

Hi, I just wanted to drop you a note. I'm Deborah (Myers) Armold. I'm the grandaughter of Polly Standafer Myers. She was a wonderful woman, and any info I have I'll be glad to share with you. I'm starting to research the family as well, and would love to share info back and forth.

I also have a grandmother who was a Standafer, her name was Maude. She was a daughter of William Peter Standafer and Matilda Fields. Maude Standafer was born 1894 Ky. and died in 1980, Highlands Co., Fl. I have 4 Polly Standafers in my files but I do not show any marriages for them. I am more then willing to share what information I have on the Standafers.

My grandmother Polly, was the daughter of Stephen Standafer and Isabella Fields Standafer. She was born in 1907. My understanding is her mother died of complications of child birth when she was 18 months old, and her father died when she was 5. She and her sister Sophia was raised in an orphange in Lexington. When my grandmother got out of the orphange she went on to become a school teacher at MC Napier High in Hazard KY. She married my grandfather Paul Myers, and they had 10 children. She died in 1994.

Stephen was the son of Leslie Standafer, which I believe was your grandmother Maude's father as well.

I have your grandmother Polly along with her sister Sophia and her other siblings, Price, Marcilous and Logan. The only marriage I show is for Logan who married Pauline Begley.

My grandmother Maude, she was a daughter of William Peter Standafer, brother to Leslie Standafer. Please contact me at boggs1439@bellsouth.net
