Mrs. Rebecca
Petty who lives in a cottage all by herself in the village of Forks of
Elkhorn was found dead in her room early Tuesday morning. It is believed she got up to build a fire and dropped dead a second after she aroe from the bed. Mrs. Petty was 84 years old and yet had maintained great activity up to the last in doing much charity work and helping poor people in every way she could. She was an active member of the Forks Circle of King's
Daughters and had been a member of
Buck Run Church for over fifty years. Mrs. Petty was a Miss
Hockensmith before her marriage and her husband, John
Petty, died many years ago. The nearest living relative she had in this county was Mrs. George
Brock of the Forks who is her niece. Her funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Forks of
Elkhorn Church and she will be buried in
Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort,
Kentucky.
