Obituary for V. Atlas Allen (June 22, 1905 - Oct. 21, 1964)
Funeral services for Vada Atlas Allen, 59, of 117 Summit Ave., who died on Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Caraleigh Baptist Church, of which he was a member, by the Rev. W. P. Biggerstaff and the Rev. Jonnie New. Burial will be in Goodhope Christian Church on Rt. 1, Youngsville. Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Davis; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Joyce Lucas of Appomattox, Va., Mrs. Gladys Stancil of Jacksonville and Mrs. Elizabeth Lee of Raleigh; two brothers, John A. and M. Eugene Allen, both of Raleigh, four sisters, Miss Mamie Allen, Mrs. L.J. Woodcock, both of Raleigh, Mrs. Lucie Mitchell of Franklinton and Mrs. Elsie Byrd of Winston-Salem; and five grandchildren.
