KING - Mr. James Harvey Hall, age 86, of King, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Mountain View Medical Center.

Mr. Hall was born in Stokes County on December 28, 1922 to the late Roy Hall and Joe Piney Cox.

Harvey was a retired farmer and plumber and attended Friendship Baptist Church when he was able. He loved playing Rook, watching old westerns, listening to gospel music and helping others. As well as during his younger years, he was a member of CC Camp for 3 years. He was a special man who touched the hearts of all that he met. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.

Mr. Hall. is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ethel F. Hall of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry (Michelle) Hall; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan (Bill) Epperson, Betty Bennett and friend, Tommy Anderson; one step-daughter, Jennie (Bobby) Hall; one half-brother, James "Dink" Cox; grandchildren, Tammy Nicholson, Larry Hall Jr., James Hall, Timmy (Roxy) Epperson, Angie Keith, Randy (Christy) Bennett, Melissa (Jeff) Tucker; step-grandchildren, Richard (Tara) Hall, Kim (Mike) Stowe; great-grandchildren, Taylor Nicholson, Tim Epperson Jr., Erica and Bethany Keith, Briana and Zack Bennett, Kirstin and Katelyn Tucker; step-great-grandchildren, Waylon and TJ Stowe, Dessy and Braxston Hall.

Harvey was preceded in death by his first wife, Versie Hall; one son, Roy Hall; one sister, Polly Cox; two brothers, Carson Hall and Alvern Hall; half-brother, Carl Ray Cox; and one half sister, Linda Cox.

A private Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Cemetery with the Pastor Mike Sands officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 202 Centreport Drive #100, Greensboro, NC 27409 or a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the staff of Mountain View Medical and their wonderful Doctor's and Friends, Dr. Milton Dean Harris and Dr. Eric Rueter. Harvey was loved and cherished by all and will be greatly missed. "We love you!" Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the Hall family.
