Holtzinger
The petition of Benjamin Holtzinger, administrator of John Holtzinger, late of Spring Garden Township in said County of York, deceased, was presented, stating that John Holtzinger died intestate and left a widow, Polly, and children to wit; George Holtzinger, Jacob Holtzinger, Daniel Holtzinger, Benjamin Holtzinger, Susan (the wife of Henry Fried), Nancy (the wife of Samuel Spicer), Mary (the wife of Michael Strickler), Catharine (the wife of John Landis), Elizabeth (the wife of Joseph Kauffman); that the personal estate of said intestate is insufficient to pay his debts, that said intestate died seized of a house and piece of ground in Spring Garden Township, containing one acre reforming lands of Abraham Hiestand, Amos Green, and Michael Dietz. Your petitioner, therefore, prays the court to grant him an order to sell said house and piece of ground with the appurtenances, for the payment of the debts of the said intestate, the amount of the personal estate of said intestate is about $44.00.

The debts of the intestate which have come to the knowledge of his administrator:
John Blessing, about $200.00
Michael Strickler, about $ 30.00
And your petitioner will pray.

Above facts sworn to and subscribed before James Adams, Esq., Justice of the Peace.
Whereupon the Court award a sale of said real estate and order and direct said administrator, (he having filed his bond with approved security in the sum of six hundred dollars) to expose said real estate to public sale and sell the same for the best price that can be had, therefor, first giving due and legal notice of the time and place of sale and make report to the next court thereafter.

Green, the appraise aforesaid, and declared upon their solemn affirmation that the foregoing is a just & true inventory of all an singular the goods & chattels, rights & credits, which were of the personal estate of the late John Holtzinger, of Spring Garden township York County deceased, and that as far as it came to their knowledge thereby. And, that they valued and appraised the same impartially, to the best of their judgment & ability. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this thirty-first day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred & forty-seven.
