Looking to get started on research of family history. Smalls family are from Smoaks,S.C. Atkison are from Ruffin, S.C. and Simmons originated from Summerville,S.C.
Lookings for for places to find information. Any Sites on the computer I can go directly?

We are part of the "Smalls family" , presently residing in Puerto Rico , from the St. John Danish and U.S. Virgin Islands.
Our great grandparents; Richard Smalls ( 1700 - 1800 ), ( African slave, shipped to St. John, Danish West Indian Islands )& Susannah Flemming ( Irish )had 2 children one , Jacob Smalls ( DOB.B. 7/3/1886 ) ( African )who married Constancia Sprauve ( white ); and the other child of Richard Smalls and Susannah Flemming was Charlotte Smalls who was marrried to Richard Danial Sewer .
The Smalls family linkage goes also into Barbados British West Indies , where our family was once again separated through slavery. I am also seeking those family linkage if you can kindly send me any information that you may have , I will gladly appreciate it.
There are a large distribution of the Smalls family throughout the West Indian Islands including Barbados British West Indies since slavery.

I am also part of the "Smalls Family". My husband's parents are Jacob Smalls (originally from St. John now residing in St. Thomas) and Hulda Hendricks. One of the family surnames is Sprauve on his father's side. From what I have heard from one of his aunts, his great-great grandfather was of mixed heritage from a Scottish mother and a Bajan/Haitian father. If anyone has nay additional info, please let me know as I would love to have it for my children's family tree. Do you have a narrative re: Martin Sewer, is he anglo or black free or slave?

Do have knowledge of why the Irish are in Virgin Islands 1850ish mixing with the people?

Researching genealogy and would like to write a family narrative using the history and setting as a baseline.
