That would fit. The info I have is he was shot and died later. So it could have been at home. My Great grandfather was James Martin Campbell.

Do you have any other info on either Martin or his wife?

I have no info on James Martin. Henrietta is where my line runs. She was born in 1862. Do you have any info on William the father of Martin Campbell Sr. I would suggest going thru the census records at the library. The records you see on some of the geneological sites leave a lot to be desired. One thing I have noticed about the census date of birth or age info is that it can be as much as 4 years off when compared to the date you see on a known persons gravestone. I found this many times.

I am taking a shot in the dark here as I have nothing to loose by asking....
My gggrandmother was Mary Catherine Campbell, b. abt 1853 possibly in Islandton or Walterboro - not sure. She married my gggradfather Alexander Benjamin DuBois, b 1845, again in Islandton or Walterboro...
I have no family history or other information on who Mary's parents were.
It was Alexander's second marriage and Mary's first. They had one child from this union - Joseph Christian DuBois b.1882 in Broxton Twp., Colleton Co.
Do you have any Mary Catherine Campbell's in your line that would fit this time period?
Thanks, Karen

In the same plat we found Mary Ann DuBois Born 6/6/1820 Died 3/31/1899, and J.Q DuBois. Hamilton J. DuBois born 2/7/1874 died 9/30/1943. Ellen Crosby born 6/5/1974 died 6/20/1960.
