Seeking information regarding the following families who were in the St. Bartholomew's area of Colleton Co. prior to 1800.

William Robertson and wife Sarah (nee?)enumerated on the 1790 census of St. Bartholomew's Parrish.

Their son John Robertson b. 1786 Colleton Co, SC moved into the Florida Territory ca. 1832 with his wife Susannah Stanley and their family. John and Susannah were married 1807 in Colleton Co. by the Methodist Minister McCormick. Their children were George Lafayette b. 1809 m. Susan Rebecca Johnston; Eliza Ann M. b. 1813 m. James C. Lemacks; Rebecca b. 1814 m. Stephen Blocker; John W. b. 1815 m. Sarah Ann Whitehurst; Carrell Elonzo H. b. 1818 m. Serena Whitehurst; twins Allen B. (never married) and James Russell b. 1820 m. Cassandra M. Johnston; Sarah Harriett b. 1823 m. William Hutto Durrance; Susannah W. b. 1826 m. George Tison; Charity b. 1828 married Robert A. McAulay; and Margaret A. b. 1830 married Jackson Sylvester Redbrook.

Probable daughter of William and Sarah Robertson was Eleanor Robertson who married Absolem Carrell (son of Absolem Carrell, Sr?)1804 in Colleton Co. She and her husband moved to the Mississippi Territory shortly after they were married and Absolem Carrell died 1829 in Jones Co.

Do any of your people tie into Crosbys? I see you have Crosby in your surname list, but not in your query. I have a John Crosby, b 1808 in Colleton Co., m Rebecca Ellen Stanfield in 1854ish. Think he was probably married before her, but can't find it. If I could, I think it might open some big doors for me on this line.

Hi Jim, I have some information on Crosbys prior to 1800 if that is helpful. 1 Peter CROSBY (b. 1750) married Margaret. As I recall Peter was born in Barnswell, S.C. and moved to Colleton District.
Children were: 2 Peter (II) 2 Phebee
2 James (b. 1774) 2 Aaron (b. Abt. 1776) Abraham (1780-1830) 2 Nancy (b. Abt. 1794).
I have some information on Blockers who moved to Florida in early 1800s. I am searching for ANY information on ethnic origins or ancestors for Peter CROSBY (1750).

I am looking for any information on a James A. Harper who is listed in the 1820 Census as living in St Bartholomeus County. I think that after that census, he moved to Copiah County, Miss and later died there. I think he was born about 1779. He was married to a Mary and had at least 3 children in SC before he moved to Miss.

I have some Lemacks prior to 1800 but not much info on them.

I think that I may have some of the information that you are looking for. I am related to Paul W. Harper, one of the sons of James A. Harper. I think that he was a minister and is buried in Old Crystal Springs Cemetery in Copiah, Mississippi. I have a list of James's other children if you are interested. I think that I may have a lead on the father of James also. I am working of that right now.
