I believe you are a part of my clan that i am searching for.
My ggrandfather and ggrandmother were John James and Susan E connelly..My ggrandmothers maiden name was Godley.. I believe she married a Robert Lee Jones before marrying John James connelly..I have been reseaching this for years and was lucky to find some older family members who had some pictures and letters from that era.
We are going to colleton county next month and see what we can find there.
I was told that the old homestead is still in the connelly family.

well have been doing research and found that my GGrandfather mothers maiden name is Elizabeth C (Jones) Connelly(NOT Godley).My GGrandmothers mother is Eliabeth E (Padgett) DuBois...
According to records we have collected she is both My family and I are going to Walterboro next week and find what we can and hopefully find some living kin folks..
