Robin,
I am Peggy Lou (Caster) Orr's son. Lilly Floyd (Caster) was my Grandmother as well. She was married to Gervas Caster my Grandfather. Mom was not blood related to Gervas but was adopted by him when she was a baby, Wayne Raymond Johns was her real father. We lived next door to Grandma Lilly in Baytown Texas, where she died in 1972. Lilly's mother also lived with us for a short time until she passed on. I have a picture with all of Lilly's children after her funeral. Your dad Delmer, Judd, Micky (Emma) , Lola and Peggy. My mom passed in 2006, Lola (Bosswood) still lives in Michigan. I had heard that Judd and Micky (Emma) have also passed on.

WOMAN DIES AT FLOYDADA IN 106TH YEAR

Floydada, Texas, May 6--Mrs. Minerva Jane Walker, 105 years old, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. A. E. Tinnin, west of Floydada, Thursday morning.
Mrs. Walker was born in Poke County, Arkansas, in 1816. At the age of 26 she moved with her family and husband to the Republic of Texas in 1842, three years before Texas became a State of the Union. She settled in what is now Palo Pinto County. Most of her life was spent in Texas.
She lived for a time with some of her children in Arkansas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Her first husband's name was Goodman, and her last husband, Walker, has been dead for over twenty-five years. She had raised six children, three of whom are living. Frank Goodman of Hood County, Texas; Jim Goodman of New Mexico, and Mrs. S. T. Johnson of Dallas. Both Frank and Jim Goodman are in their eighties and Mrs. Johnson, one of the youngest children, is nearly sixty.
Mrs. Walker was on a visit with some of her many descendants in Floyd County at the time of her death. She came from Lehigh, Okla. three weeks ago and was visiting Mrs. G. W. Ingram, Mrs. A. E. Tinnin, T. M. Goodman and E. F. Johnson, all of whom are her grandchildren, west of Floydada.
Mrs. Walker retained all her faculties till her death. She was living in Parker County at the time of the capture of Cynthia Ann Parker and took refuge in an old fort built at that place and escaped. Even before she came to Texas she recalled the Indian fights around Fort Smith, Ark.
Mrs. Walker lived through four wars. She came to Texas just at the time that Texas was battling for her independence from Mexico. She had four sons in the Confederate army. She lived to see the Spanish-American War and the World War. She was born during the administration of James Monroe, seven years before the promulgation of the Monroe doctrine.
While coming to Floydada on her last trip, Mrs. Walker in passing through Fort Worth recalled the first visit she ever made to that part of Texas. At that time there was one lone cabin where Fort Worth now stands, and the chief occupation of the few settlers in Texas was to repel the Indians.
Until twelve months ago she was hardly ever confined to her bed. She was buried in the Floydada cemetery Friday.
I am Janet Milam, volunteer at the Floyd County Historical Museum in Floydada which is the county seat. I find an obituary for Mrs G M Tate in 1944. Our papers for Lockney are scarce in the 30s but I will check them closely to see if I can find anything else. Perhaps there will be a funeral home record for Mary. Please contact at j.milam@sbcglobal.net if you are interested in seeing what I can find. Janet

She is buried in Manchaca Cemetery. Her father's name is given as William Teague born in Ill and her mother was Elizabeth Bates born in Ill.

The death certificates of Dena Dannheim's brothers, Lafayette Monroe Ratliff and Richard T Ratliff, also indicate that the father's name was Richard.

Here is the URL for Senterfitt Cemetery, where Ernest and Dena Dannheim are buried. Other members of their family are buried there also:

ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tx/lampasas/cemeteries/s...

Dannheim, Dena, 1876 - 1960
Dannheim, Ernest F., 1876 - 1936, (m. Ethel)
Dannheim, Robert V., Jr., May 28, 1939 - May 29, 1930, infant

By the way, Earnest (Ernest) and Dena Dannheim are on the 1900 census of Hay County, Texas. The name Dannheim is really messed up. It is something like Domiten. However, the family is Earnest, Jan 1876; Dena, May 1876; and Lillian, May 1900. They are living next door to Dena's brother Monroe Ratliff, his wife Lizzie, and their five children.

In 1910, they are in Kerr County, Texas,

Their children are Lillian, Sidney, Sofia, Ethel, Herbert, and Clarence.

In 1920, they are in Tarrant County, Texas. Again the name is messed up. It looks like Danhimm. The children at home are Sidney, 18; Sapo, 16; Ethel,14; Herbert 12; Clarence, 11; Ernest, 8; Alvin, 67; and Vernon,5.

Living next door in 1920 Tarrant County is Claud Long and Lillian. He is 24 and she is 19.

In 1930, Ernest and Dena Danheim (Dannheim) are in Travis County, Texas. Their children at home are Richard C, 21; Earnet E, 19; Alvin E, 17; Robert v, 15; and Hellen J, 9. Living next door is Herbert T Dannheim, his wife Blanche, and their son Herbert T Jr, who is 10/12. Next to Herbert is the family of James E Kinsey and his wife Sophia (Dannheim). Their children are Virgil and Vernon. However, I believe Virgil is James Kinsey's son by a previous marriage.

Sophis Hulda Kinsey, was born in 1916 and died 3 May 1970.

I have other information about other children of Ernest and Dena.

I am not related to this family. I just saw you query and did the research.

An now I notice that this query is from 1998!!!!

Marion K. Parker

How about I will give you Dannheim information and you just give me information on Lillian Ione Dannheim? Does that sound okay? All I know about Lillian Ione Dannheim is she was born about 1900, she married Claude Oscar Long, and they had one child, Joyce Kay Long. And I know a little information about her. Please email me back soon.
Thanks,
Kaitlin

I'm Janet Milam at the Floyd County Historical Museum. Just received your message earlier in May. A daughter of Felt Patterson still lives in Floydada. I contacted her today and she was very interested. I don't want to post the information online, but if you will contact me at j.milam@sbcglobal.net I will send you the information. Plus, I made copies of obits for Felt; Jewel; the daughter, Nita, who died in a wreck in 1947 or 49; and the son, Dillon, who died in 2005. When you contact me, send your mailing address if you'd like to receive copies. We don't charge. Janet

Hi there. I know this is long overdue, but if you're still looking, I can try to help. I'm working on this part of my tree as well. If you are asking about John Felton Patterson of Floyd County, TX maybe I can help. John, or "Gang Gang" as my mom called him, was my great-grandfather. He died just before I was born. I've just gotten back to working on my tree, but I can see what my nana knows. Let me know what it is you're looking for exactly and I'll be happy to see if I can help!
Becky

This is an old post, but...

My mother was one of four daughters of Robert Ezra Harris and Myrter Baker, and a grand daughter of Middleton Pope Harris and Sarah Head. She was born in Crosby County in 1923. I think that was not too long after the family moved there from Temple, TX. There was a separation in the family, and my mother has passed away, so I am less than certain about my information.

M.P. Harris bought a section of land in northern Crosby County - more or less northwest of the intersection of FM 193 and 207 that he split among his children. They were all farmers. Robert Ezra built a home west of Farmer along FM 193. I imagine it has fallen down by now, but we frequently drove by it whenever we had occasion to be out that way. My mom said she used to enjoy playing under some grapevines that grew along her grand-dads fence line.

At the crook in the road where FM 193 turns south, there was a cotton gin, a general store and a building - possibly a school - that the different denominations shared on Sundays for services.

Issac was married to Rebecca Welch prior to Martha. Rebecca died and then he married Martha in Johnson County Texas. Rebecca Welch was married prior to marrying Issac to Oliver HP Ellis.
Am looking for the married name of Maud nee Hamilton. She is listed as being 16 years old and living with her parents (Isaac and Martha Hamilton) on the 1900 Lockney, Floyd Co. census, and according to family legend is buried in Lockney Cemetery with her three young sons. Allegedly, she and the boys all died in 1912.
Thanks for any help...
