Emanuel "Manny" Bleecker was a cousin of my father. The family story is that Manny and 3 siblings were orphaned, probably in the 1920's and went to an orphanage, either in New York City or Detroit. The family name was Worgaftik; the children took their mother's name, Bleecker. These Bleeckers were Jewish, not Dutch.
