Pelc is my married name. My husband is also Polish and his name my have been short for Peltz. Name may have been changed when arriving in America. My grandparents are Byra and Chudzicki. My grandmother was Katarzyna Byra and her father was a farmer. I have her church birth/bapt record from Poland. It states her father was a farmer. She was the last of her sisters to arrive on the last boat allowed out of Germany. I found her on Ellis Island entry. She actually traveled with theKobal into the USA. I would have to look up the records again. It has been a long time since I have done this. I do not speak Polish so I have to have someone tras for me.. She had sisters and brothers.
