Bonjour Sam,
Here is the family:
Zacharie
Cloutier, b about 1739 married Marie-Joseph Manitoukoué in Oka, Quebec on 21-11-1780 in the local Catholic church. She was a
Menominee Indian from
Wisconsin. She was born in
Oshkosh about 1757. They had 3 children before their marriage and 4 after. They were Charles, 1776, François, 1777, Geneviève-Angélique, 1779, Joseph-Benjamin, 1781, Marie-Madeleine, 1782 Josephe, 1785 and Julie 1799
Zacharie has worked for the Northwest Fur Trading Co and for the
Hudson Bay Co. He was posted in Grand
Portage and in Fond du Lac, WI.
His parents are not named in the marriage record. I think they were Athanase
Cloutier and
Madeleine Guillet. This assumption is based on the fact that of all the Zacharie Cloutiers born in that period, he is the only one that fits, the only one available, the outcome of all the others being known and different.
His son François married Élisabeth Tioutchakisi in Maskinongé, Quebec. I assume she is Indian as her name is definitely not French Canadian. The other married children toke a French Canadian as spouse.
Salut !
Roger
