Was your descendant Dr. William C. Holmes? He witnessed Patrick Henry Couch's will. I would like to know more about Holmes and the relationship between these two men/families. P. H. Couch died soon after his will was written in 1874. The Couch family lived in Grayson County, on the border of Collin Co.

I am not sure of those Holmes's. My Holmes's are from Smyth County Virginia. My relation to Texas is from the McClanahan Family. My holmes's start with William Holmes born abt 1788. I think some of the Holmes's ended up in that area but I am not sure who. I will do some looking and let you know.
