These are my great great great grandparents.
William we know a lot about, but Sarah is an
enigma....many of us have been researching
for years to find where she came from before
she married. Some of us "web cousins" believe
that she may be our link to the Cherokee that
some grandmothers told us about as young
children. Who Knows. I have William as born
January 16, 1782 in Barnwell District, SC.
Married Sarah on January 6, 1808 in Gwinett,Ga
died September 29, 1848 in Gwinett County, Ga..
Sarah born January 6,1789 in Barnwell District,
SC Died November 11, 1862 in Gwinett County, Ga.
Their daughter Elizabeth Saloma McDaniel married
my great grandfather, Elijah Pittard January
7, 1838 in Gwinett, Ga. I was born in Gwinnett Countynty, Ga where many of the Pittards still
live today. Any questions I have a full gedcom
of my family tree that I can send to you in
email. Good luck, cousin Penny

Surely you have found the info from this person by now- but check in the McDaniel family name search for Sarah Wm Contact- BLWright4@aol.com.
I fit in some where my Granddad was Sam Couch born in Spartenburg,SC in 1865, married my Grandmother-Mattie Johnson(born in 1874 in Tx. her parents were Perry J. Johnson(1852) Sarah Womack Blanton(1858)- her parents were Stephen Fletcher Blanton(1820-Ellenboro, NC) Sarah McDaniel(1823-Rutherford Co.,NC) her parents- John ? Hannah? McDaniel.
Back to the Couches- Sam's parents-Lecil(Secil)1830 Sarah Ann Cudd(1838), his parents Jimmy(James)(1801) Rebecca Couch (abt 1808) all this in the Spartenburg Co. area. Maybe your Sarah Couch was a sister to my James Couch??

Although I am not aware of the Couch connection, I would like information on the family of Sarah McDaniel,b.1823 who married Stephen F. Blanton, b.1820. They went from NC to Fannin County, TX. Sarah's father was John McDaniel, Jr. who possibly married Mary Sperling on 6-14-1816 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. Her paternal grandparents were John McDaniel and Hannah ?. Sarah's sister Elizabeth married Ambrose Roach. What were the names of other siblings? What was Hannah's last name? Appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Per records obtained from the Abbeville, SC court house and documentaion from Scott family records. Lemuel Scott (1804 Abbeville, SC)-(1881 Franklin, GA & Hartwell, GA) married Mary A. McDaniel in 1824 (1810-? SC & Franklin, GA census) but then later Lemuel shows up as "divorced". They had seven children:

Charles L. Scott (1825-1905)
Elizabeth C. Scott (1826-1917)
William W. Scott (1833-1899)
Eliza A. Scott (1835-1910)
Benjamin N. Scott (1838-1863)
Joseph H. Scott (abt: 1846-?)
James E. Scott (abt: 1847-?)

Lemuel is buried in Hartwell, GA.....

Is it possible that Mary A. had re-married after her divorce with Lemuel?

I found Mary A. McDaniel Scott's gravesite in Hart GA. Let me know if you are interested in a picture. Mary did remarry but then later showed up again using her Scott name in records. Lemuel married again to Jane who is also buried in the same place as Mary. Jane was thirty years his Jr. Some say that she was orginaly married to his son who was killed in VA during the war.
