COLUMBIANA,

Rae Coulter, 76, passed away at her home on Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, 2009.
She was born Nov. 21, 1932, in Youngstown,
OHIO the daughter of Margaret
Shaffer Lamb and William
Lamb.
She graduated from North
Lima High School, (South Range) and attended Youngstown State University, where she studied portrait painting under Clyde
Singer and earned a degree in Art Education. She was an Art teacher at Crestview High School for many years before retiring to pursue her art full time. Over the last 50 years she has produced hundreds of paintings, sculptures and various forms of art which have been shown and sold throughout the United States. She has more than 500 works in public and private collections. She has received more than 30 awards for her artwork from such organizations as The John Young Arts Festival, Jewish Community Center and the
Butler Institute of American Art.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald
Coulter, whom she married in 1952; her son, Scott R. Coulter; a daughter-in-law, Kim Coulter; a grandson, Darian S. Coulter; a sister, Margaret (Margie) Wolfgang; and a nephew, Mark
Wolfgang.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Terry L. Coulter and his wife, Martha of Columbiana; her son, Jay A. Coulter of
Salem, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Mrs. Megan
Kimble of
Phoenix,
Capt. Ty
Coulter, of
Eglin AFB, Fla., Mrs. Emily
Estok of Nashville, Tenn., Mr. Brian
Coulter of Nashville and Miss
Elyse Coulter of
Columbus. She also leaves behind a sister, Jaci Lindquist; brother-in-law, Bob Wolfgang; niece, Linda McKee; and a great-niece, Erica
Johnson, all from Katy,
Texas.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana.
