I saw your posting on the
Creason Surname message board. I am a descendant of James
Creson of NC, born about 1823. Legend states that he spelled his name
Creason with his first wife and family. After she died, and he married for the second time in 1877 to my great-grandmother, they spelled it
Creson. I am looking for his mother and father, brothers and sisters, etc. They lived in what was referred to as
Stokes County at the time, near King, NC. He was a farmer, and magistrate. My Great-grandmother's name was
Polly Hauser, from
Salem, NC.
I have been told that all Creason/Creson(s) in the USA were descended from an
Abraham Creson, who was a French
Hugenot who fled religious persecution by French Catholics. Do have any documentation on this, and do you know of any descendents of
Abraham Creson, or the ancestors of James
Creson of NC? Thanks for your help. Jean
