My g-grandmother was Melvina Creason. She married James Harvey and lived in the Camden, MO area when my grandfather, Walter Franklin Harvey was born. My gf lived for many years in Henrietta, MO. Hoping for a connection!

Walter Creason was my gg grandfather through his second marriage.Melvinia's mother is not listed on the 1850 census.I assume she dies between 1840 and 1850.In 1851 Walter marries and they have a daughter Katherine (aka Katta) and a son Henry.

I lost track of this site and just re-discovered it tonight. I am unable to progress any further back than Walter and Melvina. I did find him on the 1850 census, with no wife as noted in previous postings. In later census data I noted a Susannah in the household. In 1850 Melvina was not counted in the "Creason" household, but a Melvina Harvey was counted in the neighboring household. I did check the 1830 census and found a William and Walter Creason listed sequentially. That has me wondering about a family connection. Previous postings do not include Walter in the James and Rachel family. Your name has me curious. Are you a descendant of James and Melvina Harvey? My link is through Walter Franklin Harvey, b 1865 in Camden, Ray Co, MO. My email is danskharve@aol.com.

My G grandmother was Katherine Creason ,daughter of Walter and Susannah Mahan Creason.married 1851 Ray county Mo.Melvinia Harvey was also the daughter of Walter Creason but her mother died some time between 1840 and 1850 according to the census info I have found. This would make Melvinia a step sister to my Katherine.

CREASONS in AR

I read your note in Ancestry.com about your CREASON family in Arkansas. I think we may be related. I am from Henry CREASON (b. 1825 in Ray CO., MO), son of Walter CREASON and Susannah DONOHUE. I believe my Henry had a sister named Kathleen. This couple moved to Black Rock, AR sometime before Henry's birth. Unfortunately that is all I know about this family. Does this ring a bell and do you have any more information?

Thanks! Kris

Classification: Query
Surnames: CREASON
Does anyone know who the first creason families were to come to Kentucky from either Tennessee, North or South Carolina. I can not find anything on my Edward Creason before the 1850 census of Green County, Kentucky. I found that he was suppose to be born in Tennessee about 1818 or 1826. I know that he fought in the Mexican War.
