HISTORY of DISNEY from ISIGNY
Did you know that the Disney & Dizney families have ancestors of the XIth century French nobility?
Indeed the DISNEYS are all direct descendants of Hughes Suhart, Landlord of Isigny-sur-Mer in Normandy (France). Your prestigious ancestor was vassal of Duke Guillaume of Normandy. It is Guillaume who gave to Hughes Suhart, in thanks of his assistance, several strongholds, among them was ISIGNY.
Hughes Suhart took the name of d’Isigny and in 1066, with “William The Conqueror” he made the conquest of England. William became King of England and Hughes D’Isigny decided to settle there in the area of Lincoln.
The name d’ISIGNY then gradually was anglicized and transformed into Deisigny, Disegny, of Ysini, D’Isny, DIZNEY & DISNEY.
You have much chance, because very few families in the world can pride themselves on being able to find ancestors living 10 centuries ago, especially since they were noble.
As for Isigny-sur-mer, it is famous universally for its gastronomy: creams, butter, cheeses, oysters, cider, cakes, toffees…?

DISNEY D’ISIGNY ORGANIZATION
There are currently in the world approximately 3000 Disney families residing in USA, but also in England, in Australia, in South Africa…. with whom, Isigny City has the pleasure to announce the creation of The "Disney d' Isigny" Organization.
This non-profit-making organization has the aim of gathering together all the Disney’s families of the world with the Isigny City, cradle of their ancestors, in order to undertake together several cultural actions.
Envisaged actions:
1. Realization of Disney family tree.
2. News bulletin edition, which will be the link between all the Disney in the world.
3. Disney directory.
4. Edition of a Disney’s saga book.
5. Creation of an Historical Museum "Disney from Isigny" with the City of Isigny.

We are certain that you will be numerous wanting to join such project, in one way or another. You will herewith find a questionnaire in order to deliver your opinion and your ideas concerning this project.
