Iowa -- Ruth A. Elder, 80, of
Wilton died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at
Genesis Medical Center West
Campus in Davenport.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in
Wilton. The Rev. Bruce Giese will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist, Sharon Bowers and vocalist, Henry
Bentley. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Brady Gruemmer, Paige Gruemmer, Brooks Gruemmer, Dustin

Visitations are 4-8 p.m. Friday at
Bentley Funeral Homes in
Wilton and on Saturday one hour prior to services at the church.
Ruth
Derby was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Wapello, the daughter of Paul and Edna Cross
Derby. She married Waldo M. Elder on June 8, 1940, in Anita. He preceded her in death May 3, 1997.
She was the CEO of the
Elder Casey General Store Franchises. In earlier years she was a teachers assistant in
Wilton for 12 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in
Wilton, a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star, and of the Casey's Franchise Group.
She was a loyal republican and enjoyed her work and the many friends she made through Caseys.
Survivors include three daughters, Christa
Elder of Indianapolis, Ind., Judy
Boorn and her husband, William, of Perry, Barbara
Dinnen and her husband, Stephen, of Des Moines; a son, Jack
Elder and his wife, Rebecca, of LaCrescent, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Elliott of Wapello, Mary
Collins of Atalissa, and Jane Forte and her husband, Richard, of West Liberty; and a brother, Woodrow
Derby of San Deigo, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gary Lee Elder; and a brother, William
Derby.

Iowa - Emma Grace
Elder, infant daughter of Mark and Melissa
Elder, was born Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in
Iowa City and died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at the University of
Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her parents and a brother,
Evan Elder, all of
Durant.

Stephen W. Elder, 49, of Atalissa, died Thursday, January 11, 2007, at his home.
Private cremation rites are being held at the Cremation Memorial Center of the Jeffrey S. Nichols
Chapel Hill Funeral Home and Crematory 114 West Fourth St., Muscatine.
He was born December 15, 1957, at Muscatine, the son of Richard D. and Madeline J. Spray
Elder.
He had worked as a mechanic for M and M
Ford for many years.
He loved to fish and work on old cars.
He is survived by his mother, Madelyn
Elder of Muscatine; and two half-brothers, Randall
Roach, and his wife Dorothy, of Cedar Rapids and Roger
Bain of
Nevada,
Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father.
