Any information on the family of Frederick W. and Amelia (Grah) Ernst, who moved to the Chicago area by about 1860 from St. Louis, MO. Frederick was a cigar maker, and both he and Amelia were born in Prussia. Frederick Ernst died between 1870 and 1880, and Amelia (Grah) Ernst died in 1912 in Chicago.

Frederick and Amelia Ernst had six children:

Hugo Ernst (b. c 1852),

Louis M. Ernst (b 1856, married Bertha D. Warneke in 1894, and had at least two children, Laura and Arthur Ernst),

Emma Ernst (b c 1857),

Lena Ernst (b 1861, maybe married Richard Hedrich in 1882),

Frederick Ernst (b 1865, married Regina and had at least two children, Marion and Irwin Ernst),

and Rosa Ernst (b March 1868).

I am a Great Great Grand daughter of Frederick and Amelia Ernst. Their son Frederick Berthold Ernst married Regina Helgans. Their son Irwin Charles Ernst married Sylvia Keck. Their daughter, Doris Jeannette Ernst married James Gibson. James and Doris are my parents. I would be interested in sharing information with you.

Sorry. I do have a "Friederich" born in 1843 in Russia. He married Luise Wagner and had at least two children, Barbara and Johann. If there was a second marriage, I have no record of it.

While my family had an "Emma" and several named "Rosina," none were children of "Frederich."
