How lovely. As it turns out, my gr gfather, Andrew
Ferguson, spent about 10 years in St
Martins, St John Co, New
Brunswick before moving back to the
Boston area where he had originally settled. In the 1881 Canadian census there is an Alexander
Ferguson, a house painter, living with Andrew and his family. Coincidentally, Andrew left Canada in 1888 and I can not find a trace of Alexander after that.
My belief is that Andrew's parents are also Alexander
Ferguson and Jean
Currie (I have Alex's and Jean's given names from a marriage cert but have had to find the "
Currie"). One other piece of information I have about Alex is that he listed his religion as Weslyan Methodist while Andrew and his family were Church of
England.
Does any of this match up with what you know of Alexander and his family. If you know the ultimate fate of Alexander's brother Andrew that would be helpful, too.
Hope we're cousins (by marriage at any rate)
