Bruce E. Ferguson, 53, of
Dayton, NV died Nov. 2, 2009. He was born Sept. 22, 1956, to Stanley and Joyce (
Garmon)
Ferguson in
Frankfort,
Indiana. He graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1974, and then went on to work for the
Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo,
Indiana until his retirement. He moved to
Carson City in 2001. On June 2, 2002 he married the love of his life, Robin
Knighton, and they later made their home in
Dayton.
Bruce could frequently be found with a fishing pole in his hands at many of the local lakes and streams. He also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler in the nearby mountains with family and friends. Bruce loved
Nevada and the western life that he found here. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR. Nothing made Bruce happier than traveling with his wife and family. He looked forward every year to Christmas
Eve, when he spent the evening with his wife and children delivering presents as
Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves for the
Carson City Sheriff's Reserve. He was a tax-preparer with AARP for the
Dayton area, and his most recent volunteer activity was an acting ally for the
Carson City Circles Initiative. He had many friends that he enjoyed fellowship with through
Calvary Chapel of
Dayton Valley. If there was a job to be done, you could call on Bruce and count on his help.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley
Ferguson.
