Hi, I am looking for information on Claud Francois and his wife Catherine Marcillet Francois. They are my Great-Great Grandparents. Their son,Anthony Francois was my Great-Grandfather. From what I know both Claud and Catherine were both born in Guyonvelle,Haute-Marne, France. Their son Anthony Francois was born on March 18,1859 at Loyd,Richland Co.,Wisconsin. Claud and Catherine had other children. Claud and Catherine lived in a log cabin one and a half miles south of Lime Ridge. Lime Ridge is located in Sauk Co.,Wisconsin. I would like to know more about this family and where their final resting place is. My Great-Grandfather Anthony Francois married Josephine (Josie) Fisher on April 18,1889. They lived in Lime Ridge, Washington Township,Sauk Co., Wisconsin. They had 6 children: Carrie,Charlie,Merl,Bethel,Pearl and Mary Francois. Bethel Ruth Francois is my Great Grandmother though I have never met her and am not sure when she died. Her Daughter's name was Ruby Belle Francois who was born in Tomah, WI and was my Grandmother as well. She had married my Grandfather Melvin Laverne Johnson in or around Mondovi, WI, and Melvin died June 12th, 1944 in the Normandy invasion on the shores of France. Ruby Belle Johnson (Maiden Francois) (her stepfather's name was Hedding, and no information about her paternal father except his name might have been Underhill) came out to California in the Santa Cruz area with my Father Kenneth Melvin Johnson. She married a Elmer John Kensinger who has passed away as well.
