I am looking for information about Charles
Francois. He was a merchant in St. Landry
Parish. He was born about 1823 in France and emigrated to
Louisiana before 1850. He married
Meline Miller around 1850 in St. Landry
Parish,
LA.
In the 1860 census, Charles is living next door to Theophile
Francois, who was born in 1829 in France, and who, with his wife Mary Ann Curel (also born in France), lived in
Mississippi about 1853.
I believe it is likely that Charles and Theophile are related, but I have no proof of that. I am very interested in discovering when Charles
Francois moved to
Louisiana, and what part of France he came from. This could help me to find his parents.
