Seeking information on John David Garrett of Knoxville, TN,
one son, John, one son, James, one son, Samuel Franklin Garrett, Born in 1919,
entered Navy at age 16.

I'm just starting my husband's genealogy. His parents are gone, and I had no chance to speak with them. His mother did leave notes though stating that his ggrandfather was James Arthur Garrett (no dates no locations) married to a Dora Katherine Routt. Any help would be appreciated.

I am the granddaughter of James Arthur Garrett. My father was James Richard Garrett. His sister Anne married Walter Bernard.

James Arthur was born Dec 12 1865 in Taylor Co. W.Va. He was the son of James Henderson Garrett and Melvina Kelley.

He married Dora Routt in Linn Co. Missouri on Nov 18, 1891. I have the family line up to 1683 when they arrived in Chester Co. Pa. but have been unable to ascertain exactly where they came from in England
