Looking for the ancestors of John Garrett (b. 1690 Amelia Co, VA, d. May 1744 Amelia Cop, VA) married Susannah Burton (b. 1695 Henrico, VA, d. aft 1745) in 1717.
Her parents were Abraham Burton and Anne Featherstone. The only child I have for them is Stephen (1733-1758)

John and Susanna had 8 children,Isaac B.12/9/1720,Fanny,B.9/26/1721,Susannah B.9/1/1723 Married John Burton,John B.7/10/1726,settled in n.c.1780, Abraham,B.7/3/1729(apparently deceased by 1744,Thomas,B.12/6/1730,Stephen B.4/9/1733 moved to montgomery Co. I have a copy of John Garrott's will dated May 27, 1744. This is the same John Garrett you are looking for. He was my 6th great grandfather. I have details back to Sir William Knight, born about 1570 in England. email me for details maybe we can exchange info

I also trace my ancestry back to John Garrett and I am familiar with the line back to Willliam Garrett in 1570 but I need more proof. Would appreciate any help.

My gggrandfather is Albert Garrett born in VA in 1871. He moved to Philadelphia, married Winifred Hughes, died about 1960. Is he possibly in your family? I have no information on his parents or exact birthplace.

I have seen several postings that a Thomas Garrett who married a Jane was the son of John and Susanna Burton Garrett. Thomas removed to Mecklenburg Co. Do you have any info that might connect Thomas to John? Thanks
