Hope someone can help me. I am looking for the wife of Samuel Detterline (Ditterline) born in 1791 and died 1870. I believe her name may be Mary Hipple because there is a document that states Samuel gave his brother in law Jacob Hipple $30.00. I can assume her name was Hipple. Can anyone confirm this and if so, know her parents? Samuel was born in Bucks County and died in Philadelphia.

John & Amelia Hipple - Dixon, Lee County, IL

I found a large collection of legal documents that appear to have come from the estate of a Joseph Rhodes. These are the originals and include Deeds of Trust, Will (including his handwritten one and the recorded one), Receipts, Farm Leases, General Warranty and Bank Books.

One of the people that appears in the records is John & Amelia Hipple of Dixon, Lee County, Illinois.

Some names in the documents are Rhodes, Kendig, Dennison, Packard (maybe his banker or lawyer??), Scott, Carp, Miller, Dement, Hipple and many more.

These are the originals including raised notary seals and recording information. I'm trying to get these back to the families and am simply asking for what I paid (50 cents-$1.00/each) plus postage. These are wonderful things to add to your family history collection and I will be happy to email you a complete listing of what I have if you would like. I just couldn't leave them in the antique store knowing what they were!! rlightfoot@socket.net

I have now found that Miriam Hipple(b.abt 1904), daughter of Sylvester Hipple(b.Abt. 1866) and Emma Kline(b.January 03, 1866), married a William Baker Carter(b.June 27, 1894), son of Robert Carter(b. June 30, 1873)and Sally Baker(b.June 01, 1876).Miriam and William had at least two children Mabert H. Carter(b.May 10, 1924) and Robert S. Carter(b.November 16, 1928). Seems they are all from Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This is all the information I can find on this family. They are not on the 1930 census records that I can find. Would anyone have more information on this family?

Linda,

My great-great-great grandmother was Susan Hipple (1836-1907). She was the wife of James McCarter (1816-9104). I am pretty sure she is the daughter of John & Margaret Ann "Mary" (Seiler) Hipple. She was with her parents in the 1850 census and then residing in Carlisle, PA in 1860 just before she married James McCarter (his 2nd marriage). Her sister Rebecca (b. May 1850) was residing with her and James in 1900 in Carlisle. Their brother Wesley Hipple (1846-1909)is buried in Carlisle. Did you have Susan's husband as James McCarter? Anything esle you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Frank W.
John's older brother, Jacob Hipple b. 1797 was my g-g-g-grandfather. I have John Hipple b. 8 Mar 1799 in Moneghan Twp. York Co. Pa. John married Aug. 1825 Mary Ann Seiler. John died about 1 Nov 1859. The court records for the January 1860 Term referred to John Hipple, deceased of Carroll Twp. Perry Co. PA. His widow was not named in the record. The real estate was sold to satisfy the widow's share and pay debts. Jacob Bruner, was the administrator. He was married to John and Mary Hipple's oldest daughter,Elizabeth S. Hipple b. 29 May 1826. She maried Jacob Bruner 30 Mar 1854. She died 27 Apr 1891. I have some information on some of the other 10 children of John and Mary.
Linda Hipple Phillips

In researching this line, a book entitled "Huppel, Hippel, Hipple" by Mary B. Hipple Ferreira, self published in 1950, consisting of 24 typewritten pages, is missing from the Historical Society of Chester Co., PA. There are no other copies according to Inter-Library resources. Also checked with PA. Hist. Soc. and they do not have a copy, nor does LDS. If anyone has a copy, or excerpts therefrom, I would be more than happy to pay cost of reproducing/postage.

I have never seen the first name Oristus, in the HIPPLEs from Chester Co. I believe that your family is another line of HIPPLEs, and not connected to the ones from Chester Co.

According to the BIO, the HIPPLE grandfather lived in Cumberland Co PA 'all his life' who would be the father of John b 1811, and the 3 others. From the wording it seems that the 4 children were born in Cumberland Co. Then son John after the CW moved into Lanc Co and died in Newtown, Rapho Twp, Lanc Co PA, age 81 in 1892. The BIO is on his son Oristus A., who was born in Warwick Twp Lanc Co in 1840.

So.....back to the drawing board and a recheck of early census. You would need to check out early census in Cumberland Co to see who had a son under age 10 in 1820. Or in 1830, a son bet 15-20.

The only HIPPLE in 1820 is in Frankford, Cumberland Co, a George HIPPLE.
And he has 2 males - one under 10, and one 10-16. This fits for the father of John b 1811 and a brother.
George is in age bracket of 26-45, so would be born bet 1775-1794. There is only a female in same age then, which would be his wife.

So now you may want to look for records in Cumberland Co for HIPPLEs......

I don't have a George from the Chester Co group who went further than Phila in that age bracket!

Maybe someone does, though!
Good luck
Diana
Thank you for answering. I will check these families out. I am not sure when the following article that I found was written:
Portrait and biographical record of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

page 547 & 548

Oristus A. Hipple, a prosperous grocer of Marietta, is of remote German descent, but the family has been long established in Pennsylvania. His grandfather was a lifelong resident of Cumberland county, and by his marriage reared four children: John, Jacob, Polly, and Mrs. Obetz, all deceased but Polly. The first-named son John, was born in Cumberland County, October 7, 1811, and obtaining a good education in youth, was for twenty years engaged as a school teacher. In connection with that profession he followed the trade of a stone mason, but in
1870 retired from the former, and afterward gave his attention wholly to the latter. In politics a
Republican, he was always deeply interested in the success of his party.
Though advanced in years at the opening of the Rebellion, John Hipple entered service
as a member of the One Hundred and Ninety-fifth Pennsylvania Infantry, in which he remained
for nine months. At the expiration of his term of service he enlisted for one year. During his later years he was a resident of Newton, Rapho Township, Lancaster County, and there his death
occurred December 28, 1892, at age eighty-one years of age. His wife, whose maiden name was Anna McCauley, passed away in 1888. Their children were Rufus H., Oristus A., Arthalinda N., James M., Isabella, Emanuel E., Tobias H. A., John U. S., deceased; Thomas P., Albert, Rosa, Ann, and one that died in infancy.
In Warwick Township, Lancaster County, the subject of this biography was born, November 2, 1840. He was in boyhood a student in the common schools, after which he turned his attention to the trade of brick-layer, learning it in Newtown. After his marriage, in 1872, he came to Marietta, and followed this occupation, together with that of furnace repairing, until 1892, when he opened a grocery store. He now gives his entire attention to this business, having abandoned his trade. Politically he is a Republican, devoted to party tenents. He belongs to Donegal Lodge No. 129, I.O.O.F., and Marietta Encampment No. 76, being Treasurer of both. He is also a member of Marietta Castle No. 102, Knights of the Mystic Chain, serving as its Treasurer, and is identified with Marietta Castle No., 102, Knights of the Golden Eagle. He fills the same office in the Improved Order of Red Men. In fact, he is Treasurer of every organization with which he is identified, except Grand Army Post and Knights of the Golden Eagle.
During the late war Mr. Hipple served in Company A, One Hundred and Ninety-ninth Pennsylvania Infantry, Twenty-fourth Corps, Army of the Potomac. He was present at the charge of Ft. Gregg, and took part in a number of minor engagements, being engaged chiefly on detail duty. He witnessed the surrender at Appomattox, and served ten months, or until the close of the Rebellion. He is Collector and Treasurer of the local board of the National Home Building & Loan Association of Bloomington, Ill.
September 24, 1864, Mr. Hipple was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Gallagher, an estimable lady, who is highly regarded by a large circle of personal friends. The family circle at one time consisted of six children, but little Dale and Carrie May are deceased, and the oldest son, U. S. Grant, has established a home of his own. Nora, Jennie A. And John Alfred still remain with their parents.

Wherever that info came from, it is the wrong Jacob!

From Baptisms at E Vincent Reformed:
Jacob b 7/14/1788 was bapt 8/30/1788, son of Lorenz HIPPLE (emigrant) and Rosina Jaeger, spons: . This Jacob married Susanna BENNER and they are both buried at E Vincent Reformed cemetery in Chester Co.

I believe the Jacob who married a Sarah, is Jacob born 4/14/1787, bp 7/22/1787, parents Lorenz(son of Henry) and Margaret STEIN.
He was in Lancaster and then Lebanon Co and Dauphin Co PA where he died aft 1860. His son James was a boatsman.

1850 Census, North Lebanon, Lebanon Co PA
Jacob HIPPLE, age 63, lock keeper, PA
Sarah age 59, PA
Henry age 22, PA, laborer
Jemima age 19, PA
Hannah FULMER, age 32, PA
Christianna Fulmer age 11, PA
Charles Fulmer age 5, PA

1860 Census, Jacob was living with son James HIPPLE and his family in Middletown, Dauphin Co.PA, age 73. He must have been a widower, as Sarah was not on census with him then.

1860 Census, Middletown, Dauphin Co PA
James HIPPLE, age 38, boatman, PA
Mary A. age 40, PA
John H. age 7, PA, school
James age 6, PA
William F age 2, PA
Decatur, age 1, PA
Jacob HIPPLE, age 73, PA

Diana
Theresa:

Can you copy and paste the BIO that you found in Lanc Co to this board. I'd like to review it to see if I can help!
I looked on the PA-Roots Lancaster Co boards for a BIO that would be posted for your names and did not find one. Neither on the genweb archive board either for that county.

There were a few HIPPLE families in Lanc Co. in the early 1800s.

Jacob HIPPLE (1756-1828) m Elizabeth RICE/REISS(1760-1823) and they located to Marietta, Lanc Co. bet 1810-1820 from Chester Co. They had 10 children, and 2 males, who could be the father of your John, who settled in Lanc Co in Marietta. Elizabeth REISS was dau of Zacharias REISS who lost his property in Pikeland, and moved with many of his 17 children, after his wife died in 1789, to what is now Juanita Co. Jacob HIPPLE and Elizabeth REISS/RICE first show up in Marietta on the 1820 Census. In 1810 they were in Chester Co. They are buried at Marietta Union Cemetery there.

In 1820 Census for Lanc Co there are 3 possibles:
Jacob HIPPLE and Reece (Zacharias) HIPPLE, sons of Jacob and Elizabeth REIS, both had males under 10 and lived in Marietta. Jacob was born 9/21/1779; Zacharias was born 11/1/1785 and married Sarah FOOS/FUSS from Chester Co. I don't know anything of Jacob. Nor do I know names of any children for Zacharias and Sarah.

A third possible is a Henry HIPPLE in West Hempfield who had males under 10. I don't know who Henry is a son of.

So your odds are that one of these 3 could be the father of son John b 1811.

Maybe someone else has more for these families.

Diana in AL

Thank you for responding. However the John and Jacob you referred to by all the information I have including the article from Portraits and Biographical Record of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, shows John as the eldest child being born in 1811 and dying in December 28, 1892 and his wife Anna McCauley Hipple dying in 1888. I have found them on most census records from 1850 up to 1880. They were married on November 27, 1836 in Lititz, PA. I just can't seem to find John's or Anna's parents.

In the Portrait and biographical record for Lancaster County, Pennsylvania they list these four as brothers and sisters. Does anyone have more information on these four Hipples? I am descended from John (b.1811) and have traced most of his children, but still have not discovered who his parents were.

Would anyone have any information of a marriage between an Isabella Hipple and a Bradley, most likely named Abram? Or a marriage between Arthalinda Hipple and a Samuel Myers. Found among my late mother's photos a picture of "Uncle Sam Myers" taken Christmas 1889 and a photo of "Aunt Belle Bradley" taken in The Roshon Studio, 121 N. 9th Street, Lebanon Pa in 1895. Also at the same studio in the same year a picture of a young girl "Mayme Myers" Mother's grandfather Tobias Hipple had a sister Isabella Hipple that is living with the family on the 1870 census but not the 1880 census in Rapho county, however I found an Isabella Bradley, wife of Abram, same birth year and same county as Isabella Hipple the previous census. Tobias also had a sister Arthalinda that was living with the family on one census next door to Samuel Myers and family and the next census she is not living with the Hipple family and Samuel is now married to Artholina Myers with the same birth date as Arthalinda. any help with these families would be appreciated.

So is Jacob, with O C court in 1819, a son of John CARL and Catharine? And he is the one referenced as dec'd in Orphan's Court file in 1834 in Tyrone Twp?

Thank you for showing all of the children of John and Catharine.

There is no wife shown for Jacob. Do you know when she died? I have his wife was Elizabeth HIPPLE. Their marriage:
Marriages at 'Faulkkner' Swamp Reformed Church, Montgomery Co PA:
Marriages by Rev. Frederick Herman
Dec 24 1799 Jacob Carl and Elizabeth Hippel, both of Chester Co.

I am not sure of her parents, but it could be Frederick HIPPLE and his wife Mary. They had a dau Elizabeth born 9/26/1771 and bapt at Vincent Reformed on 10/6/1771 - no sponsors shown. If that is her, she was a few years older than Jacob who I have born 2/27/1774 and bapt at E Vincent Reformed too.

Jacob Carl's children were minors when he died, I wonder if wife Elizabeth died in childbirth when she had the last child? Do you have any dates, etc., for any of their children listed in the Orphan's Court?

Thanks again,
Diana

Yes, these are my Natchers - Charles D was my great great grandfather. No wonder the Correll surname was a deadend for me. Never occurred to me to look for Carl. I also had assumed that Correll was Rudicil's mother's surname. I have a reference in his will to his wife Elizabeth though, rather than Hannah. Will have to dig back into my notes, I haven't really being doing genealogy for years.
Rudicil's father Michael Natcher (also Knatcher) was born in York county then ran a stage with his mother Barbara in Harrisburg (Dauphin county). Perhaps the Natcher and Carl families connected in Harrisburg? I have no record of Michael in Cumberland, other than Rudicil's petition to the Orphan's Court for a guardian at age 14.
If you're interested in digging around in my family tree, I have a website at http://wilkinson-topley.rootsweb.com/

I don't have much on the Natcher family, but glad to share what I have.
John Rudisill Natcher, son of Rudisill and Hannah Carl
Natcher, kmarried Margaret Turner before 1845 in Cumberland County, Pa.
John Rudisell Natcher was born in 1824 in Carlisle, Pa.
John Ru8disill Natcher died June 20, 1876 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa. He was buried June 22, 1876, in South Side Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.
His occupation was a contractor. His religion was Presbyterian.

Margaret Turner was born about 1823 in Pennsylvania.
She died after 1910.
Her religion was Presbyterian.

Their children were:
William Natcher
John T. Natcher
Sarah Natcher
Charles D. Natcher
Mary Natcher
Elizabeth Natcher
Stephen Natcher
Henry Natcher
Ida Jane Natcher
Alverda Natcher

Notes about John Rudisill Natcher:
Look into the Correll (I think Correll is the same as Carl)
family. Orphan's court:
The petition of Rudisill Natcher was heard, father of John R. Natcher of Carlisle, said John R. Natcher being a minor under the age of 14 years, who has interest in the estate of his grandmother Elizabeth Correll, late of Chester County, Pa. Guardian is petitioned, Jacob Carl is nominated
and appointed Guardian of John R. Natcher by the court.
(Quoted in Mrs. Flower's letter (#89)
It also says,"Mrs. Flowers thinks Elizabeth is Rudisill's mother, but I think she is his mother-in-law."
I REALLY THINK THAT ELIZABETH IS RUDICIL NATCHER'S MOTHER-IN-LAW,
because of the information I have. And, I think Elizabeth
is John Rudisill Natcher's grandmother.
The mix up comes from the following information:
Rudicil Natcher (1797-18660
Elizabeth
David Turner, Father of Margaret Turner
Rebecca (1788-__)

John Rudisill Natcher resided in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pa. in 1870.
In 1876 he lived at: 1214 Bingham Street, 28th Ward (at time
of death) He died of Chronic Hepatitis.

Notes for Margaret Turner.
In 1839 she attended the Wednesday evening female class sponsered by the Carlisle Methodist Episcopal Church and held at the home of Sister Lyon. Rebecca Turner also attended. In 1840 she is listed as a probationer. She attended classes in 1842 (with Rebecca and another with
Sarah Turner) and in 1844.
Her residence was Gist Street, near Ann Street, Pittsburgh, Pa.

If you can give me any information on my Carl family, Please do.I cannot connect my John Carl to this John and
Elizabeth Carl from Chester County, who moved to Perry
County (Cumberland County before 1820). BUT....I know they connect!
Barbara -

I am interested in your Natcher connection - I have Natchers in Carlisle during that time period. It's an extremely unusual name, I have only found one unrelated Natcher family that entered the country much later than mine. Do you have any other information about your Hannah who married a Natcher?

Hi Diana...No, I don't have the 20 children of William Hipple and Nancy Hostetter.
I wanted to tell you that the the names of the children of John and Catharine Wagner Carl came from:
Page 389
O. Jacob decd (I read this as deed, but I'm pretty sure
it says Deceased)
10.Catharine dec'd

Cumberland Co. O. C.
Can't help with those that are out of Eastern PA or the SMEIGHs.

But here is what I think about Frederick HIPPLE, William's father - that he was a cousin to Jacob, Lorentz, John, Adam and Henry HIPPLE who were sons of Johannes HIPPEL, and the ancestry goes back to Europe where they came from.
There was a Johannis HIPPELL who emigrated age 40 on ship Glasgow on 9/9/1738. I think he is the father of 5 boys mentioned above.

In the will of son Jacob HIPPLE, who died 1772 in Pikeland, the executors were 'cousin' Frederick HIPPLE and Lawrence HIPPLE.

Here is will abstract:
HIPPLE, JACOB. [Place not given.] in Chester Co Will Abstracts, but Chester county gov't Archives shows he was in Pikeland.
November 10, 1772. December 3, 1772.
Provides for wife Anna. To grandson Lawrence son of Henry Hipple £3.
Grandson Jacob Hipple is to have my Bible. Remainder to son John Hipple and when he is arrived to the age "she is to let him to the sacrament of the Prisbeterian Religion."
Executor: Cousin Frederick Hipple, and Lawrence Hipple "for my guardian."
Wit: Henry Hipple, Conrod Sharar.

'Cousin Frederick' would mean that his father had a brother who had a son Frederick.

There is a Friedrick HIPPEL who emigrated in 8/24/1765 on ship 'Polly' from Amsterdam, via Cowes England.

In the Penn Archives, Series 2, Marriage Licenses prior to 1790, p 214, Frederick HIPPLE to Mary Rousbaughan on 9/2/1765. Unfortunately there is no location shown, but it was shortly after his arrival.

Frederick HIPPLE appears in Vincent Twp as inmate in 1769 and his cousin Lawrence HIPPLE is also on the list with 250 acres.

At E Vincent Reformed, in addition to Wilhelm/William HIPPEL shown as you have him born on 2/28/1777, of Frederick and Anna Maria, there were 2 daughters......Margaretha b 5/1/1770, and Elizabeth b 9/26/1771 born to them.

So Frederick and Mary left Vincent and went to York Co and died there? Do you have their death dates?
Do you know anything about the 2 sisters of William and what happened to them?

Thank your for the information you have given. Do you have all 20 children?

Diana

I cannot find more information about George Emerick. If I
find more, will let you know.
I do know for sure that Mary Carl did marry John Moses.
I found that while searching. They probably got married here in Perry County, as the Moses family lived here.

My records show that a Sarah Hipple, born August 12, 1816
in Rye Township, Perry County, Pa. (then Cumberland County).
She was one of 20 children born to William Hipple, and wife
Nancy Hostetter. Nancy Hostetter was born March 20, 1777.
William Hipple was born February 28, 1777, and died February 15, 1833. Over half of the children were born in Moneghan and Franklin Townships, York County, Pa.
William Hipple's birth is recorded in the records of East Vincent Reformed Church, Vincent Township, Chester County, Pa. His wife was born in Huntingdon Township, York County,
(now Adams County). William was a son of Fredrich and Anna Maria Hipple, both of whom died in Huntingdon Township.
William's first son Jacob was either born or baptized on April 14, 1797 at the Lower Bermudian Reformed Church in Latimore Township, York County, Pa. (now Adams County).
Unfortunately, the transcription of the Lower Bermudian records ends shortly after 1800 and there are no German Church records for the Mongeghan and Franklin Township
area of York County.
David Smeigh married Sarah Hipple. (The Smeigh family
comes into my Carl family). John Carl and Elizabeth Smeigh
Carl were my Great Great Great grandparents.
The oldest child of David and Sarah Hipple Smeigh was Margaret who was 16 in the 1850 census, so they probably were married in 1833 or 1834.
If there is anyone who can help me to get past John and Elizabeth Smeigh Carl, PLEASE DO.....THANKS
my email is barbandernie@pa.net.
Thanks, Barbara Carl Neff
Landisburg, Pa. 17040

I was surprised to get a response, because when I wrote up the Carl genealogy last night, I thought I lost it. I thought it never got posted.
I really don't know where to begin. I think that John and Catharine Wagner Carl moved from Chester County, Pa. to
Tyrone Township, Cumberland County, Pa. about 1809. Don't have the date right in front of me to check it out for sure.
Tyrone township was in Cumberland County, until 1820, when
Perry County was formed out of part of Cumberland County.
I have Jacob's children as: Jacob; John; Henry;Catharine; Hannah, wife of _______ Natcher, Hannah and ___ Natcher having a son John Natcher; Peter; and Elizabeth.
Catharine married Jacob Yeager, and their children were:
Jesse/Joshua; Mary; Daniel. Second marriage Catharine married George Emerick, and they had a son George. I have some more information somewhere about the Emerick family.
They lived in the Carlisle area, which is in Cumberland County, Pa.
Susannah Carl married John Kennedy, daughter of John Carl in Tyrone Township in September of 1821. This came from the Perry Forester newspaper, published in Landisburg, Tytrone Township.
I did not have Jacob's wife name. Glad to get that.
I have lots of Moses information, as I connect to them through the Bear family, but, I have no proof that Mary Carl married John Moses. The Moses family was an outstanding family in the same area as the Carl family.
I live just a few miles from where the Moses and Carl families lived.
John Carl had no widow when he died. I have a date of January 31, 1831, but, I don't know what it pertains to.
What do you have on George Carl? I have 2 George Carls.
One is John and Catharine Wagner Carl's son.The other is a son of Conrad Carl, and was married to Elizabeth Heckendorn.
I have wondered if they might both be the same person, and just got the fathers mixed up.

Census records make tracing family members very difficult sometimes. Name changes due to marriage, listing with another family and just being missed by the census taker! I'm having the same difficulty finding my great great grandmother, A. Sarah/Sarah A. Hipple (Christman) Thompson. I think Pennsylvania has some "inbetween" census records- have you tried/been to the Chester County Archives and History Center in West Chester. I don't mean the Historical Society, but the County Archives.
I've also sent a message directly to your email account.

I am still looking for info on Lusetta Hipple and James Wells who were my ggrandparents. Their son Harry Wells (the one on the 1880 census listed as grandson of Susan Hipple) was my grandfather. He relocated to South Bound Brook, Somerset County, NJ (probably through his railroad job) in the early 1890's, marrying Anna Corle Durling in February 1896. He and Anna had 11 children. Only 5 lived to maturity. He lived the rest of his life in South Bound Brook. Anna died in August 1914 and Harry and passed away in December 1916. Harry's parents James Wells and Lusetta Hipple are still mysteries to me.

Harry Wells's marriage license to Anna Corle Durling in February 1896 listed his parent's names as James Wells and Lusetta Hipple. I was able to trace Harry to James and Susanna Fisher Hipple through the census records and generous help from all you Hipple relatives of mine. I have also have a copy of James Hipple's will of 1875-probated 1879 which has given me another mystery. Lusetta Hipple only shows up in 3 places of record. She is listed in the 1850 census as a 6 year old. She is listed in the 1860 census as a 17 year old. She is not on the 1870 census. Harry was born either 1868 or 1869 and he is nowhere in the 1870 census. I have done searches all over the United States census and can't find either of them under the names Hipple or Wells. Lusetta is finally listed in her father's will of 1875--but as Lusetta Hipple--not Wells, and no child Harry Wells is listed. When James Hipple's will is probated in 1879 there is no codicil removing Lusetta and she is still listed as Lusetta Hipple. I can only assume that she was still alive in 1879. In the 1880 census Harry Wells is mentioned for the first time and is listed as "grandson", but there is no Lusetta. All trace of her disappeared after the 1860 census and the mention of her in James Hipple's will of 1875.

If anyone has any information on Lusetta Hipple--daughter of James and Susannah Fisher Hipple, I would be EXTREMELY grateful!! I would appreciate if anyone has any pictures of the children of James and Susanna or descendents they could e-mail me. I am curious if there are any similarities with myself, my brother, our children, and our cousins.

Thanks,
Jackie Wells Lubinski
jwlube@ptd.net
whoops- it's been a long time since I've done anything with my Hipple family- espcially going back to the 1850 census. YES, my James and Susannah were the parents of Faithful- also of Sarah (my grt grt grandmother). There were other siblings- including Emma and Lucetia and several sons. My mother knew her grt grandmother- Sarah Hipple Christman Thompson. I do have photos of her. Have no photos of the James and Susannah Hipple - but could possibly put you in contact with Hipples still in the Coventry (East) area that might have such photos. We are not certain which Christman my grandmother married (if she did) since her son Henry lived with his grandparents from very little on up,. Sarah lived in Philadelphia for many years along with her sister/sisters. Harry Wells another grandson also lived with James and Susannah Hipple.
Sometimes I wonder if we are talking about the same Hipple family!? I don't know anything about a "Faithful" Hillple.
Photos- I have a picture of my great, great grandmother Sarah Hipple (maybe Christman) Thompson- sister of Lucetta and daughter of a James and Susanna Hipple. The photo I have shows a very old, wizend woman and her- granddaughters - my grandmother and great aunt- Bertha Christman and Mary Emma Christman VanHorn. I'll try to get back to you ASAP, but have a full calendar for the next couple weeks. Please contact me directly to my email: educator2@aol.com and I'll do some more explaining.
