Griffith Humphrey and his wife came to America about 1840.He may have died at the beginning of the civil war. His son Griffith Humphrey came back after the war and found his stepfather was molesting his sisters Grace,Jennifer,Myrtle. Griffith killed the stepfather and fled to Iowa and changed his name to John Griffith.
