First, I don't know how to use these message boards well, so you can contact me personally at denmarsh64 @ aol.com

I'm afraid I don't have a lot of info on Henry other than he was my grandpas half-brother. As I was told, but have never found anything to confirm it, he and his brother owned the park that was occupied by the St. Louis Browns. He supposedly received a watch for his help in bringing baseball to St. Louis, but it's been so long, I have no idea who told me that, but that particular person had the watch

Henry Kulage, Kulage Park.

Greetings from the future (since this thread is 10 years old). I'm writing a thesis paper for my MA degree and was wondering if anybody has any information on this individual and/or park they'd like to share.

Mary Francis Kulage (my fathers sister) passed away on the 4th of August 2005. She was a sweet lady and mentally sharp up to the end. She has donated her brain to a scientific study to study the aging process. The researcher is working on a book titled "Aging With Dignity".

I show Stephen's middle initial as a J though, and am fairly confident that this is correct. How did you locate the information you have for the Kulages? Do you have any death data on Stephen Kulage? I suspect he may have gone to the state of Washington, but do not have concrete proof yet. This is not one of my main lines in my research, but seems to be an interesting one! Are you connected to this line?
Thanks!
Pam H

I am looking for info on a Stephen J Kulage, b. 17 Nov 1892. He lived in St. Louis and married a great aunt, Caroline "Carrie" Hepp, on 17 Nov 1915. They had a daughter, Delores, b. 1917 who died at age 8, and then they divorced at some point. I can find no info on him after Delores' birth. His parents may have been Arnold Ku(h)lage and Cecilia Ellebracht, but I have no positive proof yet. He was also rumored to have been related to the wealthy Mrs. Kulage (Mrs Joseph??) who was highly instrumental in bringing the "Pink Sisters" to St. Louis - donated part of her property for their convent and built and furnished it.

Anything familiar to anyone?

I have Stephan Herman Kulage, married to Caroline Hepp, daughter was Delores Cecelia Josephine Kulage. A barbara Hoffman is listed, possibly the second wife of Stephan. I believe it lists his parents as Arnold(1854-1948) and Cecelia Elbrect(1865-1913), I'm so bad about reading these charts, but I'm pretty sure there the same ones. I'm not sure how Stephan and Joseph are connected, but Joseph is the one who was married to Theresia Backers(or Beckers). Anyway, contact me if you're still looking for info.
Denise

Robert was my grat grandfather, Walter Carl Iiams, natural father. Are you saying the Robert & Clara Mintert were the parents of Walter Carl Iiams or that Clara was the mother and the father was Walter Carl Iiams? I believe that Clara & Robert Grondorf were divorced in 1906 and Clara married Walter Carl Iiams, Sr. Is that what you have.
Roberta

Henry Kulage was my grandfather. He was a blacksmith in Baden and later in life he owned a bowling alley. As for the park - there was a Kulage park but I am not sure how he was connected to that. Baseball??? no clue. My father is 93 and still sharp. I will talk to him about this and let you know what I find out.
Rich

Kulage/Grondorf

Hello, saw your posting on Kulage up to Montana... I think there has to be a connection somehow considering Karl Grondorf was married to an Elise Kulage, having a son Robert. Robert was my great gradfather, Walter Carl Iiams, natural father, he was born in St. Louis, his father ended up moving to Ft. Benton Montana, where he died at the Fred Todd Ranch, and is buried in the Diekhans/Kulage plot. Does any of this make sense... if you could contact me at TheKingBug@aol.com, it would be appreciated.
thanks,
matthew j. bridges

I trying to find out about Mary Frances Kulage, she was the oldest daughter of Henry J Kulage and Cunnigunda Emma Kuenz. She was born in St Louis on February 10, 1903. She was baptized in Perpetual Help Parish. I believe she was a nun.

Anyone ever heard of Henry "Heinne" Kulage of St. Louis who had something to do with bringing baseball to the city? There was a ballpark, Kulage Park, in St. Louis. Anyone familiar with this? or with him and his family? He is my ggf. Thanks, Melissa

My dad (now deceased) mentioned her several times. I think she lived near New Orleans and may still. My brother, Ed, who lives in N.O., spoke to her and my sister Marjorie, a former nun, may have also. You can e-mail my brother at ekuenz@nalco.com. Good luck.
