I live in Elk City, Oklahoma. My name is Ridge LaMar. My father was born in Purcell, Oklahoma (Clyde Colby LaMar). His father was John LaMar of Canute, OK. His brother was Lucian C. LaMar. John LaMar remarried and had another family of whom I have met Johanna LaMar and David LaMar. Any connections would be appreciated. I am fascinated with the roots of the LaMar family.

I have been searching for John T. Lamar for many years. To my surprise I found a trace of him through his son-in-law, Dr. Henry C. Frie in Lamar County, Texas and then to Lehigh, Oklahoma around 1890-1900. They were in the pharmacy business there, and then he disappeared again. Do you have any history of him?

My grt. grandmother Mary Ann Lamar Clubb is buried in Elk City.
OK. I see that you spell your name with a capital M. Is this the same
family? Mary Ann was the daughter of Peter H. Lamar and Susan
Jane Wilkinson. Susan Jane is also buried in the Ural Cemetery
at Elk City.
