I have a record of the decendents of the Rabbit Creek Tribe of Choctaw Indians. This shows that Joseph Lea married Betty Elizabeth Johnson Sartin. Her father was John Kearney and his father was Iklonabbee and Indian Chief. If you are interested, please contact me.

I neglected to give you my e-mail address. I just assumed it would show up on the message to you. Any way it is lanmadam@ebicom.net. Does the Lea ancestry I sent to you fit into your search?

Melanie Kleinpeter Hubbs  (View posts) Posted: 25 Sep 2000 4:32PM GMT
We have an annual Lea Family Reunion at Percy Quin State Park on the 3rd Sunday of each October (October 15, 2000) at 10:30 a.m. We are the descendants of Rev. Luke Lea and Elizabeth Wilson Lea, orginally from VA, and then NC, and then after the Revolutionary War, migrated to the "State of Frankland" area of then NC, later to become TN. After Elizabeth's death, Rev. Luke Lea and numerous of his adult married children migrated to what is now Amite County, MS, Pike County, MS, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany and Washington Parishes, LA. You may be part of our descendants. Please come to the reunion. Bring a covered dish and a lawn chair. We will be in Pavilion #2, or you can e-mail me back.

Thank-you for your e-mail. I am a young African-American female, in search of my history. I don't know how much you know about your family but I am just beginning this search.
I presently live in Brooklyn, NY and am a struggling actress. I wish I could afford to come and do some detective work, but unfortunately I can't. Please update me with any findings.

Thanks,

Dionne

I am also related to Joseph Lea and Elizabeth Johnson Kearney. I am related to Luke Lea and Nancy East, Martha Emeline Lea and William Christian Smith. I would love to get together.
