Tim: I have a bible record for Michael Mason Jr.'s family that I would be happy to share with you if you would like it. I have been researching Michael Mason(Sr. ??) for about 25 years and I have assumed that my Michael Mason was the father of this Michael Mason Jr. but I have never been able to make a direct connection. My Michael Mason came from Mass, NY, and Ohio and was a son of Brooks Mason from the Sampson Mason family. Any light you could shed on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg Mason

I am researching Masons in Burke County later /McDowell early North Carolina starting around 1800.

If this Michael Mason resided in McDowell, I can send you the tax lists entries with his name and land owned information if you like.

Is Margaret Mason listed in the census as his widowed wife?

I also spoke to a lady years ago that told me he was a Methodist Circuit Rider and died in AL and Margaret moved back to McDowell CO NC.

Hello!
I am the 3xgreat-grandaughter of Michael Mason, Jr of Burke, Mcdowell County, NC. I would be very interested in receiving the tax lists entries. Margaret Mason, maiden name, Margaret Hunter, was Michael Mason, Jr's widow. She was the daughter of Andrew Hunter and Lydia Burchfield of Burke County, North Carolina. I began researching many years ago, but had to give it up for a while and I am just now getting back to it. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
