I am looking for information about my Meagher family. My great great grandparents were Thomas Meagher and MaryAnn McClure from Tipperary. Their son, James Francis Meagher (my gr grandfather) was born 1848. I think that he had a brother Anthony abt 1year younger. Around 1850 they came to America. Brooklyn is where they lived. James was first married Addy Mirley, until her feath on March 10, 1880. I would like to know if there were children from this marriage. I have a strong reason to believe that Addy and some of her family are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. The James married Catherine Dono(a)van on April 18, 1882. They had Katherine (Aunt Kitty) 1888-? Her married name is Howard. (When I was little, all I remember about Aunt Kitty was her WHITE hair).Anna 1890 - ? Margret 4/16/1896, Elizabeth 2/22/1898 - 10/11/1972, husband was George Gallaudet, Joseph Anthony 1900-1988 and Abagail 1902-? They all lived in Brooklyn except for Aunt Kitty, she lived in Ozone Park, New York.

I cant help with US connections but it seems that Thomas (MEAGHER/MACLURE) had a brother who stayed in Ireland and I think I can help you there as his grandson the late James F born approx 1896 who died recently aged 106 was my great grand uncle

My family is also Meagher's and has two plots at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn. One of them has my grand parents and great grand parents plus quite a few other Meagher relatives. The other one has both Meagher's and McCabe's. My Meagher's are also from Tipperary and settled in Brooklyn although I don't think they are the same Meagher's as the names in your previous post are not familiar.
