My GGF James Mulligan b. 1815 had a brother Peter b.1818, both in Ireland. (no record of wife Anna Deleavy b. Ireland)

James had daughter Ann b.1844 in Scotland & both living in Luzerne County Pennsylvania in 1850 (My GM)

Peter and wife Catherine b.1825, son James b.1848 and Catherine b. 1850 were also in Luzerne Co in 1850. All except Peter born in Scotland and evidently they emigrated in 1850.

Looking for ties to Ireland

Hi Peter,

My grandmother was Agnes Mulligan from Swinford, County Mayo. She emigrated to the United States in the 1900's and married Stephen McGee. We still have contact with family in Mayo

Dawn,
What townland are your Mulligans from? I'm posting a query on the first page about my great grandmother's family. I believe they were all born in Ballinachurra, Swinford, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

My g-g-grandmother's maiden name was Lundy, and they lived in the area, too.

Thanks, Susan

Susan,

Sorry to get back to you so late. My grandmother was from Swinford, County Mayo. We still have family there and the family house. She came to US in or around 1930. Married Stephen F. McGee in New York and had 4 children. One died at a very young age. They lived in the Bronx at the time.Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.

Hello, I think we have some connections. I'm looking for information on the Mulligan family all born in Massachusetts.

Peter Mulligan was born in 1889 and his wife, Katherine Townsend (1888-1967) was also born in Massachusetts. They had six childen; Richard (1915), Peter (1917), Catherine (1918), Anna (1920), Gertrude (1922), and Alice (1930). Most of these names match those of your post. Catherine might be your Kathleen.

The Lynch family is some how related as Peter's wife is buried in the Lynch plot in Saint Patricks Cemetery in Lowell.

Any information would be great. I'll give you everything I have for the Townsends, Clarks, and Flanagans of Lowell.

Thanks,
Mark Avey

My aunt tells me that when my grandfather, Martin Kilroy first emigrated from County Sligo in 1908, he came to Lowell, Massachusetts where he had some Mulligan relatives. My greatgrandmother was Mary Mulligan born in @1852 and married Andrew Kilroy. Before marriage, Mary was a governess in France and then taught French in a Swinford school. Mary had an uncle Canon Philip Mulligan. Does this fit into any family tree? Thanks!
Cathy
