I'm looking for Mulligans in Ontario. More specifically a John Mulligan who married a Mary Ann Huxley. I think they came from the York/Peel area. Any help is appreciated greatly.

My late Dad had an uncle named John Mulligan, who immigrated to Canada to homestead there. We know this because our Grandad Joe went with him to help. But I'm sorry that right at this time in my research there isn't much information, yet. If you find anything, please pass it my way. If I learn more I will be glad to send it your way.

Hi there,
Do you know what the timeframe would be? And where they settled? My John Mulligan settled somewhere near Toronto, I'm assuming his year of birth would be about 1810. Any info is greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

nrewen,
My wife and I are looking for any information at all on the Mulligan family that settled in Brantford Ontario. We have visited the Mulligan cemetery there, and know that William and Mary Jarvis Mulligan came from County Tyrone. That is as far back as we can get, even after searching through countless census books in County Tyrone. Any help you might have would be appreciated. We would be glad to share what we have. Thanks.

Hi David,

I have a John Mulligan and Mary Ann Huxley from the Toronto area. John's father was Joseph Mulligan who settled in Toronto in the early 1800's. John and Mary Ann's daughter was Martha Mulligan (my great great grandmother) who lived in Brantford with her husband William McMurray in the year 1864. Before that Martha owned a Millinery Shop in Bobcageon, Ontario. It's all very confusing...not sure how they ended up in Brantford or Bobcageon. How about your ancestors....

I have Mulligan's that live in the Brantford area that have shown me an old Bible that says William Mulligan and Mary Jarvis came from the town of Donamore in County Tyrone. I found it on the map and it is near Omagh, to the west of the large lake in Tyrone.
