My husbands family comes from the Clintwood area of Virginia.I was intersted n his familyroots and dont know where o start.

I just logged on to ancetry.com and I was shocked to see that someone wrote in about trying to find out more information on her husband's family from the Clintwood, Va. area. I am from Pound, Va., just down the road, and I have alot of family in Clintwood. I would love to talk to you if you get this message. I have been working on my family history for almost a year now, but I've recently hit a wall! Anyone with
roots in Southwest Va. or Eastern Ky., I'd love to hear from you!

Allison Mullins, Pound, VA

Melanie - I am also looking for Mullins family in Pike Co. Ky to WVA specifically family of Booker Mullins b. 1810 and died in KY in 1865. Married to Nancy Potter on 9 July 1835. Had 11 children with Nancy. #5 child was James K. Mullins who was my great-great grandfather. He came to WV after Civil War and settled in Clay Co. WV. He married (1) Mariba Moore in KY (she died there) (2) Ibbe/Ibby Salisbury in 1882 in WV and (3) Rachel Smith in 1912 also in WV. Any connection? There a LOT of Mullins in that area at the time. I was born in Clintwood and am a Mullins if I can be of help get in touch with me. I still have alot of family there and know of some info which may be helpful to you. Who knows we may be related.

I am really looking for more than one thing. I have traced back as far as William Grancer Mullins. I do not know who his parents are or who his wife is. If you have anything past this point would you please let me know.

Also, do you know if John Wesley Mullins (Revolutionary John) was married twice, once to a Molly Brandon and also to a Virginia Jenny Bailey? We have found conflicting stories, some prove that he was married to Molly and some prove that he was not. If you can be of assistance to us please let me know.
