"Raymond E. NYSTROM, 78, of Delta Health Care Center, Destin, Fla., formerly of Bethlehem, died Saturday, Sept. 22, in Delta Health Care Center.

He was an assistant superintendent in the blast furnace department at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 37 years until retiring.

Born Feb. 15, 1923, in Springfield, Mass., he was a son of the late Raymond A. and Esther TRUECHET NYSTROM.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bethlehem.

He served in the Air Force during World War II as a fighter pilot.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering at Georgia Tech.

His wife, the former Dorothy BRUNSON, died in 1998.

He is survived by a daughter, Kay CLARK of Niceville, Fla.; a son, Raymond F. of Fogelsville, Pa.; a sister, Hazel KANE of Oklahoma City; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Dino P. Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Call from 12:30 p.m. Thursday to time of services in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Nisky Hill Cemetery in Bethlehem.

The family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 N. 17th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103."
