We have found our connection to Asbury C. Ogletree by our cousin's discovery on the Internet of the Monday family. Their ancestor, Melissa, was married to Asbury. Their family Bible lists my grandfather, Robert James (R.J. in their bible) as the son of Melissa Asbury. K.C. Ptomey lists Asbury as the son of Thomas Jr., the son of Thomas, Sr. We have only been able to trace as far back as Mr. Ptomey has. We are using Family Tree Maker would be glad to send you our info. My great grandmother was Mary Jane Ogletree. Born in 1867. Died 4/30/1960 is buried in Rosemond cemetery in Commerce,TX in Hunt Co. She married my great grandfather, William Spencer Longshore on 11/2/1887 in Cusseta, AL in Chambers Co. I have no other info on any of her family. Would appreciate any help anyone could give me.

According to K.C. Ptomey's book, "John Ogletree, Sr. 225 years of Descendants"
Mary Jane Ogletree, is the daughter of James B. Ogletree b. 12/3/1800 , d. 4/15/1866 Mary Ann Martin b. abt. 1814, married 5/6/1834.

Mary Jane is listed as married to Will Longshore. no dates are given. No children are listed.

The John Sr. of the title is James B.'s grandfather, his father was William.

Contact us if you want Mr. Ptomey's address phone #. We got our book directly from him.

This line is on the internet in several places. Look in Familytree Maker under John Ogletree, Sr . also it will probably show up if you look for James B. This line is also listed in the FamilySearch site of the Church of the LDS.

We are descended from Thomas, Sr. who we think is the brother of John Sr.
